Our hearts are anything but achy and/or breaky right now!

Billy Ray Cyrus is father to arguably the most progressive pop star in the entire world, so his stance on equal rights shouldn't come as too much of a shock.

Still, it's nice to see that Miley Cyrus' country papa has the same values as she does and is actively speaking out against those recent anti-LGBT bills in Mississippi and North Carolina!

As you may have already seen, Canadian rocker Bryan Adams joined the long list of celebs cancelling gigs down South due to discrimination over the weekend, and it looks like he inspired Billy Ray to do the same!

In fact, the former Hannah Montana patriarch followed his friend's lead by sharing a message to his Facebook fans on Monday, saying:

Ellen DeGeneres Perfectly Blasts Mississippi's Bigoted Anti-LGBT Bill As 'The Definition Of Discrimination'

no title

Preach, girl!

As you may have heard by now, the Mississippi government just passed a new law that the HRC is calling "The worst Religious Freedom Bill to date."

But to make things even worse, Gov. Phil Bryant and Sen. Jenifer Branning even had the audacity to promote bill HB 1523 saying it "does not limit any constitutionally protected rights or actions" for their people, despite that literally being the definition of discrimination.

Luckily, Ellen DeGeneres isn't about to take hatred like this in this day and age sitting down, so she's speaking out against her former neighbor!

The Louisiana native took a break from the comedy to get uncharacteristically poignant while discussing gay rights in the South — but that's not to say her speech was completely absent of jokes, of course.

Hopefully the rest of Hollywood follows her lead to send a message to the bigoted state!

Ch-ch-check out Ellen's critical take on Mississippi's new law (below)!!!

Mississippi Governor Signs Anti-Gay Bill Into Law, Claims It 'Does Not Limit' Anyone's Rights!

We were sincerely hoping it wasn't going to come to this…

It's with great sadness that we must report that Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant has decided to join Sen. Jenifer Branning on the wrong side of history on Tuesday and has passed yet another anti-gay bill.

The new "religious freedom" law will allow individuals, organizations, and private companies to legally discriminate against same-sex couples based on the argument that the 1st Amendment only applies to Christians, apparently.

Mississippi is just the latest state to try to limit LGBT rights — but don't worry, Phil is adamant that HB 1523 isn't hurting anyone, saying:

Mississippi Senate Joins The Bigot Club & Passes 'The Worst Religious Freedom Bill To Date'!

Mississippi: making the state better for bigots, one minority at a time!

We were cautiously optimistic that the days of anti-LGBT laws were behind us now that we've successfully navigated our way through Indiana, Arkansas, and Georgia… but we were wrong.

That's because the Mississippi Senate passed House Bill 1523 on Thursday that serves as another religious freedom act to protect businesses and organizations from having to provide service to same-sex couples and transgender people.

In fact, this specific bill is so intolerant, Ben Needham, director of LGBT advocacy group Project One America with the Human Rights Campaign, condemned the law, saying it's "probably the worst religious freedom bill to date."

Lovely.

But that's not even the best part — Rep. Sen. Jenifer Branning actually had the gall to tell her colleagues that the bill wasn't intruding on queer individuals' rights, saying:
