jason bateman talks arrested development movie

Sounds to us like somebody is having a love affair with this ice cream sandwich movie's plot.

Last we heard about the Arrested Development movie, there was newfound hope that it COULD happen in 2011.

Now, we've got even more updates from Jason Bateman to keep us optimistic that we may finally be reaching the final countdown to the movie!

Here's what Bateman had to say about it:

"For the very first time, [Hurwitz] sat me down last week to talk about what he's got and where he's going and what do I think. As a fan of the show, I was vibrating with excitement that he was pulling me behind the curtain."

"I can confirm what his update was, which was that he is very deep into the work on it. The odds of him getting it done before the end of the year, as he says he wants to, are good."

And here's what Jason had to say about the movie's plot, which he said is incredible:

"It's everything you would want it to be and more. I really hope he finishes soon so we have a shot at doing it before the end of the year."

We hope so, too! It's going to be one hell of a smile-thon amongst Arrested Development fans when we get 100% confirmation that the movie is happening.

Any new thoughts? At this point, do U think this movie will get made this year?

Progress! Arrested Development Script Half Done!

Or so they say! At this point, we've been messed around with so much, we don't know what to believe. We're just holding onto hope against hope that this will see the light of day!

All anybody really wants to see in theaters right now is Inception an Arrested Development movie and we've got some news that hopefully means the project is coming to fruition.

Last night, at the Television Critics Awards, creator Mitch Hurwitz had this to say:

"We're writing it; we’re halfway through…The reason I’ve been so cagey is fans have been so [eager about it]. I really want to do it…It’s not going to be a big money maker…It’s going to be fun, like a family reunion. The only stumbling block could be scheduling. Everybody wants to play together."

Well, the faster you move your ass with the script, the easier it will be to coordinate.

Step it up, Mitch! Time is money…and the more time you spend NOT finishing this script, the less money there will be when you finally do.

Arrested Development Movie Back On! And It Sounds Like For Real This Time!

cd10_smjb.jpg

One minute it's on, one minute it's off - don't they understand how painful it is to keep toying with our emotions like this?!

Ever since Arrested Development was pulled prematurely from television - and our hearts - years back, there's been talk of the series being turned into a movie. Unfortunately, whenever progress seems to be made in the development process, it hits a snag, and our dreams our crushed!

However, we've gotten word from actor Will Arnett as well as series creator Mitch Hurwitz that may bring a glimmer of hope back into our souls - the movie is back on!

Arnett says:

"As Mitch likes to say, we're just going to wait until there's zero interest, and that's when we'll do it."

And Hurwitz elaborates:

"Believe it or not, we have started the script. We're taking a little abeyance while we get ['Running Wilde'] up and running. But it is our absolute next priority and we can't wait to do it. We're changing some of the Bush references to Obama because we started it awhile ago. And the Bluths may not be vacationing in the Gulf of Mexico anymore. We also might have to recast the part of Uncle Mel, the former action movie star. But other than that we have a clear path. Believe it or not, I do not enjoy teasing our wonderful and devoted audience, which is one reason it appears that I've been so cagey about this. It's just that I don't want to promise what I can't deliver."

All is forgiven, bb! As long as you don't turn around in three weeks and say the movie is off again! Then we're going to have to bring a new daddy to town - a discipline daddy! LOLs!

That being said, we remain cautiously optimistic ecstatic!

We've missed the Bluths far too much! Never leave us again!

What do U think?? Are U convinced that the movie will happen this time???
