Kim Kardashian & Her Sisters Did WHAT During The Moment Of Silence For Ferguson At The VMAs??

Mostly the VMAs were a big party, a chance to Shake It Off like Taylor Swift or take it off like Nicki Minaj.

There were, however, a couple more poignant moments, and the tribute to the people of Ferguson was one of them.

But apparently not everyone participated in Common's moment of silence.

The audience camera seemed to show Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, and Kylie Jenner ON THEIR PHONES!

And that did not endear them to fans on Twitter! See more pics of the moment, with a side of outrage …AFTER THE JUMP!!!

Kris Jenner Took Precedence Over 9/11 Moment Of Silence, Has TODAY Reached New Low?

Filed under: TV NewsBarack ObamaSad Sad

Visit NBCNews.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

Get it together, NBC!

Your network is in a tailspin since dismissing Ann Curry and butchering the Summer Olympics!

As most of us remember, today marks the 11th anniversary of the terrorist attacks in D.C. and the Big Apple.

The government observed a moment of silence this morning and, as far as we can tell, every other major network cut into their programming to allow their viewers to watch their Commander-in-Chief speak to his country and give remembrance. Every network except for NBC!

Ch-ch-check out Savannah Guthrie interviewing Kris Jenner about the new season of her reality TV show (above) while 8:46AM, the moment the first plane hit the Twin Towers and the moment President Obama addresed his nation 11 years later, ticks right on by.

We keep up with The Kardashians too but when network's flagship morning "news" program foregoes covering major news talk about a reality star's fake tittays it's a troubling faux pas at best.

TODAY has hemorrhaged viewers and goodwill all summer long and this latest debacle is no way to regain it's audience's good graces!

Clive Davis: Whitney Would Have Wanted The Music To Go On

Filed under: Music MinuteWhitney HoustonSad Sad

Clive Davis, the man who discovered Whitney Houston in a New York City club when she was just 19 years old, gave a touching tribute to the singer at his Grammy party last night, the one in which she was set to attend.

Many rumors were swirling that Clive was planning on canceling the event in the wake of Whitney's death, but Clive told party-goers that she "would have wanted the music to go on."

The mood in the room was said to be somber as attendees were seen hugging each other and shaking their heads in disbelief.

While on stage, Clive told the crowd that "she loved music and she loved this night that celebrates music." He then held a moment of silence before dedicating the night to her.

Whitney will be greatly missed.

Sugarland Pays Tribute To Dead And Injured From Indiana State Fair Stage Collapse

These guys really are troopers.

It's been emotional few days for many, after high winds caused a stage on which Sugarland was only seconds away from performing at the Indiana State Fair to collapse, killing six and leaving 45 others injured.

Naturally, the band was not only shaken up by the massive tragedy, but deeply, deeply moved, and took the opportunity to ask for a moment of silence from the crowd at their gig last night at Albuquerque's Hard Rock Pavilion.

Check it out (above)!

The band also posted the following message on their website:

"This incredible machine is more than a tour and more than a set. We have always celebrated music as a healer. While music cannot change the events and losses at the Indiana State Fair, it can hopefully serve as a ritual and a balm to provide comfort and facilitate healing in this time of great sorrow. Our road family experienced its traumas together. While we all scattered to our given families for their comfort, the trauma we experienced together binds us in a unique way that we share only with each other, and those who were there. There is healing in our being together. There is healing in our working together."

And Jennifer Nettles continues:

"Moved by the grief of those families who lost loved ones. Moved by the pain of those who were injured and the fear of their families. Moved by the great heroism as I watched so many brave Indianapolis fans actually run toward the stage to try and help lift and rescue those injured. Moved by the quickness and organization of the emergency workers who set up the triage and tended to the injured. There are no words to process a moment of this magnitude and gravity. There are only prayers for peace in the hearts of the bereft, and prayers of thanksgiving for those who were spared or safe. A piece of our heart is left in that grandstand. May God provide peace and healing to the people of Indianapolis.”

Wow. So truly tragic.

But we couldn't be more proud of them for taking the time to reach out to those affected by the devastating accident. We're sure their words of comfort are very much appreciated.

Stay strong, guys.

May those still injured recover quickly, and may those who lost their lives be at peace, wherever they may be.
