Two fingers, ya'll!

After reading reports that Hank Williams, Jr., was fired from ESPN due to his insensitive Barack Obama and Hitler comparison, he has released a statement that he QUIT!

The country singer calls his permanent separation from Monday Night Football HIS decision, writng on his website:

“After reading hundreds of e-mails, I have made MY decision. By pulling my opening Oct 3rd, You (ESPN) stepped on the Toes of The First Amendment Freedom of Speech, so therefore Me, My Song, and All My Rowdy Friends are OUT OF HERE. It’s been a great run.”

Wait a minute…now we're just confused. LOLz!

Despite Hank's statement, we still have a feeling it went a little more like this:

ESPN: Hey Hank, after those controversial comments you said about Obama and Hitler, we've gotta let you go, buddy.

Hank Williams, Jr: Let me go? Nobody lets me go! I'm the one that is letting go of YOU! Me, my song, and all my rowdy friends QUIT!

ESPN: So does that mean you won't want unemployment compensation?

Hank Williams, Jr: Nah, I'll still be wanting that. Can I just tell people I quit?

ESPN: Sure, Hank.

After that, it was probably just a race to see who could get to their computer first.

Whether he quit or was fired, it doesn't really matter. We're pretty sure Americans will still be ready for some football on Monday.

Hank Williams, Jr., the cowboy you've seen singing the introduction to Monday Night Football games since 1989, has apologized for his controversial comments on FOX & Friends earlier this week.

ESPN decided to yank his iconic song and dance from the air on Monday after he said a golf game between President Barack Obama and House Speaker John Boehner was "like Hitler playing golf with (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu."

Initially, the country singer only replied with an explanation of his "extreme" analogy, but has finally coughed up an apology on Tuesday. He wrote on his website:

"I have always been very passionate about Politics and Sports and this time it got the Best or Worst of me. The thought of the Leaders of both Parties Jukin and High Fiven on a Golf course, while so many Families are Struggling to get by simply made me Boil over and make a Dumb statement and I am very Sorry if it Offended anyone. I would like to Thank all my supporters. This was Not written by some Publicist."

This should help ESPN decide whether or not his absence on Monday night was a one time thing. Our guess is we'll see him singing about football before next week's game.

If you're on television, we think it's a good idea to avoid talking about Hitler. ESPECIALLY if you're comparing the most evil man in history to the current President of the United States!

Hank Williams, Jr., the country singer who has opened every Monday Night Football game since 1989 with his theme song Are You Ready For Some Football?, was removed from ESPN's broadcast last night after controversial remarks on FOX News.

He told the hosts of FOX & Friends that a golf game between Barack Obama and House Speaker John Boehner was "one of the biggest political mistakes ever."

When questioned, he explained, "That would be like Hitler playing golf with (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu."

The FOX news anchors didn't quite get the analogy and neither did ESPN execs.

ESPN spokesman Josh Krulewitz announced on Monday afternoon:

“While Hank Williams, Jr. is not an ESPN employee, we recognize that he is closely linked to our company through the open to Monday Night Football. We are extremely disappointed with his comments, and as a result we have decided to pull the open from tonight’s telecast."

Sources say that ESPN is still evaluating whether they intend to use the song in the future. In a statement, Williams didn't exactly offer up an apology, but a little more of an explanation for his remarks, saying:

"Some of us have strong opinions and are often misunderstood. My analogy was extreme - but it was to make a point. I was simply trying to explain how stupid it seemed to me — how ludicrous that pairing was. They're polar opposites and it made no sense. They don't see eye-to-eye and never will. I have always respected the office of the President."

Well, we bet a lot of people will be expressing how "stupid" his "extreme analogy" was to them.

Another "misunderstood" statement was when Mr. Williams, Jr. referred to Obama and Vice President Joe Biden as "The Three Stooges."

Since we can do basic math we were able to infer that this guy actually has no idea what he is talking about!

Ugh! Can someone tell us WHY was this guy invited to offer up political commentary in the first place?

Ouch! This may have been a touchdown celebration, but it's so NOT cool!

After returning a fumble for a touchdown during the Monday Night Football game against the St. Louis Rams, New York Giant outside linebacker Michael Boley spiked a ball directly into the face of an innocent bystander!

The poor guy was watching the game from the sidelines near a cameraman when he got surprised with pigskin to the face.

As you'll see in the clip above, it looks like Boley intended to use his adrenaline to nail the camera (for some kind of cool affect for viewers at home maybe?), but completely MISSED.

Actually, we take that back. The ball does eventually hit the camera, it just had to bounce off some guy's head first.

The NFL player didn't even seem to notice at the time, but we HOPE he'll reach out and offer his victim an apology after seeing this clip.

At least the guy can sell his face on eBay now.

ESPN has extended their deal with Monday Night Football… through 2021!

For those of you awesome at math, that looks like another 10 years, but in actuality it only adds 8 to the pact. Though, 8 is still quite some time!

Here's some of what they get:

The eight-year pact gives ESPN 17 MNF games each season, the Pro Bowl, NFL draft (which ESPN has covered since 1980), 3D rights and continued Spanish-language rights.

Additionally, the deal includes enhanced international, digital and studio rights that let ESPN distribute the games in Brazil, the Caribbean, Africa, Middle East, Israel and Europe. Digital rights include simulcasts of games and related programming on tablet devices via the WatchESPN App.

How much was this price tag? About 15 billion dollars, but there doesn't seem to be plans to bump up affiliate fees.

All this new stuff starts in 2014, but tablet access can begin immediately if they want it to.

Cool! We think ESPN does a great job, so we're glad it's staying home!
