And here is the part we weren't expecting — it's because he's a right-wing conservative!
We didn't think Montana was the most liberal state in the union, but apparently a high school principle told Schindler's List producer Gerald Molen that he couldn't speak at graduation because he's “a right-wing conservative.”
The Oscar-winning producer has spoken at dozens of high school graduation ceremonies and was shocked when he was told by Ronan High principle Tom Stack said he "didn’t want the kids exposed to that."
The worst part is that this guy didn’t have the common courtesy to tell Molen about his decision until AFTER he made the 90 minute drive there.
That's not cool! Someone's politics, whether liberal
A family recently lost their father when he was skiing and a huge avalanche struck in Montana.
The mother was there as well but she survived.
The family dog was caught in the same avalanche and presumed dead…
Until he showed up alive four days later to shine a single ray of happiness in what we're sure is the darkest time in this poor family's life.
And it looks like she is a little faster than he is! Ha!
Dennis Quaid went for a jog with his wife, Kimberly, on Wednesday while on vacation in Hawaii.
The Footloose actor may one day be living on the island permanently, as sources say he recently put his Montana ranch up for sale and has said he dreams of moving to Hawaii to spend more time surfing!
We don't look at the 57-year-old and think of a surfer dude, but apparently he discovered his love for the aquatic sport while filming Soul Surfer.
Follow your passion, Dennis! Everyone else can check out more pics of the Hollywood veteran running through the tropical paradise below!

Yeehaw! Round 'em up! There's a wedding getting underway!
Sources report that LeAnn Rimes is planning to wrangle herself up with Eddie Cibrian on a private ranch in Montana. The couple spent some time in in Montana while they were, um, oh how do we say this delicately… bumping nasties while married to other people.
Yeah, that works.
Seems The Treasure State is a still a place they hold dear, so the couple have "approached a number of owners of private ranches about a May or June wedding."
Wow. Moving kind of fast with this, aren't we? You guys just got engaged last Christmas. By this rate, you'll be divorced by Halloween!
We kid, we kid. We're sure their love is, uh, real and everlasting.

The two were there for a week with about ten friends and family members, but the group mostly kept to themselves.
"Justin is a good snowboarder," claims a source. "He was on the slopes all the time, but Jessica didn't snowboard as often as he did."
After four years together, we have to give them some credit! Very cute.

We don't even know what to say about this…
The Republican Party in Montana has formed an official platform in support of making homosexuality illegal. The policy was originally adopted in 1997 after the Montana Supreme Court struck down laws that would make "homosexual acts" a crime, but according to Montana GOP director Bowen Greenwood, the policy remains because "nobody has ever taken the initiative to change it."
That's a weak statement!!
Republican Senator John Brueggeman said:
"I looked at that and said, 'You've got to be kidding me.' Should it get taken out? Absolutely. Does anybody think we should be arresting homosexual people? If you take that stand, you really probably shouldn't be in the Republican Party."
And we agree!
These archaic policies should be illegal and we're disappointed in Montana's GOP.
