Ridley Scott's Prometheus has finally gotten a rating.
Wanna know what it is? Here's a hint… it's what all pirate movies are rated…
LOLz! Sorry, that's terrible but seriously, it's rated R.
We all knew it was heading that direction, especially after

Ridley Scott's highly anticipated prequel of sorts to Alien is hitting theaters on June 8th, but Prometheus still doesn't have a rating yet.
It's currently being decided on by the ratings board, but Fox studio chief Tom Rothman revealed at CinemaCon this week that regardless of what rating the film gets, they ARE NOT cutting a single frame.
It sounds like there is a good chance it will be rated R, but he's not worried about losing out on box office dollars and told the press:

The MPAA and Ridley Scott seem to be at odds over what rating Prometheus should receive.
Ratings are more important than you may think, not just for parents to be able to keep their kids safe, but for the amount of money a film can make.
Ridley Scott was at a recent public screening of Prometheus footage in London and said:

Bully director Lee Hirsch agrees with Harvey Weinstein's decision to release his documentary as unrated.
After much debate, the Weinstein Co. made the harsh decision of keeping the film unrated in order to send the MPAA a message.
At the movie's premiere, Hirsch had this to say:

Meryl Streep and Johnny Depp have joined forces with AMC Entertainment CEO Gerry Lopez to fight against the 'R' rating that was given to the powerful documentary Bully.
Lopez criticized the decision, noting that violence and sex are more subjective, adding:
"To automatically default Bully is a mistake. Automatic default to a rating … is a mistake. The message, the movie and its social relevance defy that kind of formulaic, conventional thinking. AMC will show this movie, and we invite our guests to engage in the dialogue its relevant message will inevitably provoke."
Yes, yes, yes! There needs to be even more support for this movie so there can be a wider audience!!!! Come on, MPAA!!
