Where there's smoke, there's bus theft.
Passengers on an MTA bus in New York were late to work Tuesday morning after a crazed woman hijacked their vehicle!
Apparently, a driver noticed that a woman in her 50s was smoking cigarettes at the back of the bus and immediately called in the infraction — and asked the rule-breaker to leave.
While riders were exiting to get on a different bus, the woman — who Police discovered later was actually a disgruntled former MTA driver — actually got behind the wheel and started driving off!
She only got about four blocks before a fellow driver blocked her path, but still… what a way to start your morning commute!
Upon being taken into custody, the unidentified female began complaining that she was being followed and had to steal the bus in order to escape her captors.
She was then taken to a nearby hospital for a psych evaluation, and charges are still pending.
Stay safe, everyone!
