Selena Gomez vamped up the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards tonight.

The 19 year old made her grand entrance in a blue and green plaid dress with black lace overlay by British designer Julien Macdonald.

This is such a departure from Selena's previous red carpet looks and this was definitely the right event to do something different.

Designer Natalia Fedner is creating the ultimate VMA red carpet dress for La Coacha — a dress literally made out of red carpet!
