Apple, the king of tech, has been denied the trademark of the "multi-touch."
Originally petitioned in 2007, the United States Patent and Trademark Office will not accept the company's application.
Their reasoning? Because the term has already taken a second, more generic meaning.
They explained:

And wouldn’t you know, someone was ready!
That someone just so happened to be Ed Sheeran, the Lego House singer who is currently on tour with Selena’s bestie, Taylor Swift!!
We initially thought Ed had paid Selena a house visit with his guitar to collaborate on some sweet new tunes, but now it seems like the visit could have been to win her heart with his wonderful wooing!!!
