The victim, who survived the November 14 2014 attack in Hyde Park, told the American-Statesman that her right lung collapsed and she lost a dangerous amount of blood.

She and a friend were relaxing outside on a blanket the morning of the attack. When the friend went back to his apartment, the victim took a moment to relax and close her eyes — when Moen, then 17, allegedly attacked her with a knife, smiling as she stabbed the park goer 21 times.

The DA's office said that the Moen had "a history of drug use and psychological issues" but "no criminal record."

The creepiest part of this horrible story is what detectives believe to be Moen's diary entry after the stabbing, which says:

This case continues to shock us.

When we first read the story of Austin Harrouff and his admitted double murder and cannibalism, we thought he had to be on drugs.

And we weren't alone — arresting officers were sure the "teen cannibal" had taken bath salts or their new counterpart, flakka.

But according to Attorney Nellie King the FBI drug tests, performed at the bureau's drug lab at Quantico, showed Harrouff was not under the influence of either designer drug.

Apart from "medically introduced" drugs given to the 19-year-old at the hospital, there were no drugs present — just trace amounts of THC, meaning he had previously smoked marijuana.

There was also ethanol in his blood, though it's unclear the source. King argued it could have been the chemicals Harrouff claimed to have drunk from his victims' garage.

Last week Harrouff plead not guilty to the murders of John Stevens III and Michelle Mishcon. We'll keep you up to date on any more twists in this disturbing trial.

A key part of the now-27-year-old's conviction was his confession, in which he detailed how he and his uncle, Steven Avery, allegedly assaulted and murdered the photographer.

However, the Netflix docuseries seemed to show Brendan was coerced into providing that confession, after his mental ability was called into question and his court-appointed lawyer didn't hesitate to take a deal.

So, in August, Judge William E. Duffin overturned the young man's murder conviction. But,
