Guess that's pretty much the end of Jerry's association with the MDA telethon!

Last month, we learned that Jerry Lewis was NOT returning to host this year's Muscular Dystrophy Association telethon, which aired on Sept 4.

We were wondering how the telethon would fare without him, and sure enough it did VERY well!

The MDA telethon brought in its best numbers since 2008, raising $61.5 million, which is $2.6 million more than last year. Impressive!

American Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe co-hosted the event with Jann Carl instead of Jerry, and the two said that Lewis had "retired" during their broadcast.

More than anything, we're just glad to see that people are still donating SO MUCH $$$ to this important cause! Truly inspiring!

Thanks for all the years supporting the cause, Jerry! Much appreciated!
