Weiner Investigated For Exchanging Twitter Messages With 17-Year-Old Girl!

Oh, for goodness sake! This man!

Police have reportedly been in contact with a 17-year-old Delaware girl this weekend, after she allegedly started a Twitter relationship with Anthony Weiner when the shamed politician spoke at her High School.

Although police were concerned about the nature of their interaction, especially given the Congressman's history, but according to both the girl and her mother, nothing in the messages was deemed inappropriate!

According to New Castle County Police authorities:

"Detectives have conducted an interview with the teen and she has made no disclosure of criminal activity nor inappropriate contact by the Congressman."

Phew!

However, this seems to be the last straw for Democratic leaders, and Nancy Pelosi, Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee chair Steve Israel and Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman-Schultz have all released statements urging Weiner to resign.

Pelosi says in a statement:

"I urge Congressman Weiner to seek that help without the pressures of being a Member of Congress.”

What an absolute mess!

We're glad that police have determined that nothing shady was going on, but this whole development has certainly raised some serious flags about Weiner's judgment-calls - as if they weren't already called into question, as it is!

Ugh. We're nervous to hear what else could possibly come out!

What do U think?? Should Weiner resign??

Nancy Pelosi Wants House Ethics Committee To Investigate Weiner

Looks like Weiner's not out of the water yet!

Yesterday, Rep. Anthony Weiner finally came clean about that crotch shot that was tweeted out from his account over a week ago (above).

As we mentioned before, Weiner confessed that there was no hacker and that he had tried to send the picture of himself to "a woman in Seattle" via direct message - a woman he also admits to having an "inappropriate relationship" with.

Now, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi is calling for the House Ethics Committe to investigate Weiner.

Here's what she had to say about it:

"I am deeply disappointed and saddened about this situation; for Anthony's wife, Huma, his family, his staff and his constituents. I am calling for an Ethics Committee investigation to determine whether any official resources were used or any other violation of House rules occurred."

Looks like it's going to be a seriously uphill battle for Weiner from here on out, especially since he's made it clear that he has no plans to resign. Guess we'll see if he's able to make it through all of this.

Do U agree with Nancy Pelosi? Should the House Ethics Committee investigate Anthony Weiner?

President Obama To Sign Bill To End DADT!

Victory!

Earlier today, the Senate passed a vote to repeal the 17-year-old policy, "Don't Ask, Don't Tell."

President Obama praised Congress and sent a letter to the Democratic National Committee and his supporters on his behalf. This is what he wrote:

Moments ago, the Senate voted to end "Don't Ask, Don't Tell."
When that bill reaches my desk, I will sign it, and this discriminatory law will be repealed.

Gay and lesbian service members — brave Americans who enable our freedoms — will no longer have to hide who they are.

The fight for civil rights, a struggle that continues, will no longer include this one.

This victory belongs to you. Without your commitment, the promise I made as a candidate would have remained just that.

Dream Act Passed In House, Moves To Senate

dream act passes in house of reps moves to senate

We really hope this passes!

Yesterday, the House of Representatives passed the Dream Act, which would offer "a path to citizenship for hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants who came to the country when they were children."

Now, the bill moves on to the Senate for their vote.

Here's what House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had to say about it:

"This is about a commitment to our future. It's about a recognition of what these young people can mean for our country."

Looks like the Senate vote will happen sooner than later…possibly as early as Friday morning, where they'll need a "filibuster-proof majority" of at least 60 votes.

Here's what Oakland, CA Rep. Barbara Lee had to say about it:

"It's the right thing to do for these young people. Shall we further punish these 800,000 young people with deportation or by keeping them in legal limbo, or should we allow these highly motivated youth to attend colleges and become productive members of our society? The answer should really be quite obvious."

We totally agree, Barbara!

Come on, Senate! Make it a filibuster-proof one! You can do it!

Do U support the Dream Act?

Wow!

Nancy Pelosi has stated that the end of the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy in the US military is near saying:

"I don't have any doubt that 'Don't ask, don't tell' will be a memory by the end of this year."

We hope she's right!
