Nancy Reagan Knew About Her 17-Year-Old Daughter's Affair With A Teacher & Didn't Say Anything! Sounds About Right…

Why are we not surprised?

We were all totally heartbroken early last week when it was reported that former First Lady Nancy Reagan had passed away at the age of 94 due to congestive heart failure.

The actress-turned-politician's wife wasn't exactly known for encouraging public discourse when it came to taboo topics, which is why her daughter's latest claims aren't exactly shocking.

Apparently, back in the mid-1960s, a 17-year-old Patti Davis had an affair with her teacher… and it turns out that Nancy knew about it all along and didn't say a thing!

Patti, now 63 years old, wrote a letter in her mom's honor for the March 21 issue of TIME where she recounted the affair, saying:

Hillary Clinton Apologizes For Mistakenly Praising Nancy Reagan's 'AIDS Activism'

This is definitely NOT her best moment!

On Friday, during MSNBC's televised funeral for former first lady Nancy Reagan, Hillary Clinton spoke to reporters about the role the 94-year-old played during the AIDS epidemic in the 80s.

The presidential candidate said:

"It may be hard for your viewers to remember how difficult it was for people to talk about HIV/AIDS back in the 1980s. And because of both President and Mrs. Reagan — in particular Mrs. Reagan — we started a national conversation. When before nobody would talk about it, nobody wanted to do anything about it, and that too is something that I really appreciate with her very effective, low key advocacy but it penetrated the public conscious and people began to say, 'Hey, we have to do something about this too.'"

The only problem? Ronald Reagan's wife never did any of that. In fact, she did the opposite.

According to Teen Vogue, Reagan turned her back to the LGBT community as millions suffered from the illness.

In 2003, Michael Cover — an executive at a groundbreaking AIDS health-care organization in Washington — argued

Nancy Reagan lived a long and rich life.

Shortly after Nancy passed away at age 94 this past Sunday, her son Ron Reagan spoke to Matt Lauer about the loss. Matt also interviewed Ronnie following his father and former president Ronald Reagan death in 2004.

While Nance obviously had a lot of accomplishments throughout her life, she was most proud to be Ronald's wife and the first lady of the White House. According to Ron, her relationship with Mr. Reagan was paramount.

Speaking on his mother's marital bliss with his father, Ron gushed:

"She was totally dedicated to her husband, and I know that that sounds anti-feminist, but I don't really mean it in that way. She loved her husband more than anything in the world and I think that you could make the case that the Ronald Reagan that we came to know … would not have existed without Nancy Reagan."

Aww, so touching. It definitely takes teamwork to make the dream work.

R.R. went on to add that his momma was not the same following the ex-Potus' death:

Jane Fonda Adds Some Sparkle To The Butler Premiere

Jane Fonda sparkles at The Butler premiere in New York City

Nancy Reagan, is that you?

She may play the former First Lady in Lee Daniels' The Butler, but Jane Fonda looked more like a bad ass at the film's New York City premiere last night.

The 75-year-old traded her usual glamorous gowns for a pair of shimmering skin-tight black pants, a sequin jacket, black boots and long strand of pearls.

Classy, yet sassy!

If you look close enough, you can see Jane was sporting a blue cast on her right arm. She totes should have rocked her own bedazzled sling and had a showdown with Mariah Carey!

How awesome would that have been!?

Jane Fonda Commands In Chief As Nancy Reagan In New Clip From The Butler!

Jane Fonda is bringing back the 80s, all presidential style!

When pictures came out from the set of The Butler we couldn't believe what a spitting image Jane was of Nancy Reagan.

Now that a new scene has been released from the movie, we're even more certain that she's the closest thing to a Madame Tussaud's of the former first lady.

In an interview that adjoins the clip, the extremely liberal Jane Fonda talked about whether or not the actual conservative first lady had any problems with the casting decision:

“I happen to know that she’s not unhappy that I’m playing her.”

Well, we're equally so not unexcited (double negatives are so not, not confusing!) to see The Butler, which has more stars in it than the Milky Way galaxy plus times the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
