EXCLUSIVE: Help The Pregnant Woman In Your Life Cope With Nausea!

baby bump morning sickness

Thank goodness for Amy Malin!!

From helping with party planning to parenting tips, she is just ah-mazing!!

But sometimes it isn't all about the babies. Sometimes it's about the parents!! So when a perezcious father-to-be from Boston writes in, concerned about his wife's pregnancy sickness, Amy knows just the trick!!

Mark asks:

My wife is pregnant and is having a really tough time as she has been so sick throughout her pregnancy. What can I do to help? I hate seeing her like this.

Amy's Answer:

Mark, congrats on your new addition on the way. It is very sweet that you want to be supportive of your wife and find ways to make her pregnancy easier. You sound like a great husband. I can relate to what your wife is going through as I was sick my entire pregnancy and it can be really rough. I was like as my husband was super supportive and really pitched in and took great care of me the whole time. Aside from the emotional support and being her best friend and always cheering her on, there are some small things you can do that will really put a smile on her face. Foot rubs are a great way to relive the tension and when your wife's belly is expanding, she has the pressue on her back and her frame of a lot more weight then she is used to carrying around and as a result her feet probably also heart all the time. So show her feet some love with a rubdown. Cook her some of her favorite foods (that she can still tolerate when pregnant) and she will appreciate you cooking it up to show her you care. If you can afford to get away for a few days, a "BabyMoon" is a fabulous opportunity for some couples only romantic time and a great way to celebrate your new arrival before he/she makes their world debut. If your work schedule always, accompany her to her doctor's appointments. This is a huge way to support your wife. My husband was at every single doctor's appointment and made me feel so safe and confident to know that he was right there holding my hand and sharing every moment of the journey together. Good luck and enjoy your baby!

Good luck, Mark!! We think this is so super sweet of you!!

Withdrawal Symptoms After Quitting Smoking

Craig Nabat

Nobody likes being sick, but a FitPerez reader is worried the symptoms may have been brought on by their recent decision to quit smoking! For helpful advice, they wrote smoking counselor Craig Nabat and asked:

Craig! Help! I've given up smoking 3 weeks ago, but now I've got a headache,a sore throat and I'm coughing up some serious flem! Is this normal?

According to Craig:

Don’t worry about any of these symptoms, your body is just detoxifying. One cigarette has over 4,000 toxic chemical in it, your body must some how get rid of these toxins either by coughing up phlegm, excretion through sweat glands, or bodily waste. The following symptoms are experienced when most people quit smoking: Headache, nausea, constipation or diarrhea, drop in blood pressure, irritability, difficulty concentrating, anxiety, depression, increased hunger and caloric intake, desire for sweets, and tobacco cravings.

If you desire these terrible withdrawal symptoms to last even longer just occasionally smoke a cigarette now and then, you’ll end up putting your body into a constant state of withdrawal by doing so…I don’t recommend you go through this route.

Nicotine withdrawal symptoms will continue until you make the definitive decision to never use nicotine again in any form. Everything you are experiencing is temporary, I promise. Continue on the path you are on, you will begin to feel better soon.

Sincerely,
Craig

Selena Gomez All Good

Thank heavens!

Selena Gomez must have gotten lots of rest and drank lots of Emergen-C over the weekend because she is finally feeling better!

Last week, the singer and actress was rushed to the hospital where she underwent all sorts of blood pressure tests because of nausea and severe headache, but we're happy to report she's totally fine.

On Monday, Selena shared the good news with her fans by tweeting:

"Feeling much better, thank you all for being so understanding. Can't wait to see you all today at Santa Monica Place for the Monte Carlo kick off."

Yay! Glad you're feeling better, gurl! We were a little worried about ya!

She also took time to thank her fans on Facebook for sending out all of the good vibrations and get well wishes last week, writing:

"I just wanted to say thank you so much for all of the get well wishes. I love you guys so much"

It seems she's taken all the time she needs to recover and is getting right back into her hectic celebrity life with an appearance at a mall in Santa Monica on Monday to promote her new film Monte Carlo.

We hope whatever was bothering her doesn't come back anytime soon!
