Schools Are Stealing Penn State's Football Players

Bill O'Brien, Penn State's current football coach, has one heck of an uphill battle.

Ever since the NCAA "laid the smackdown" on the school in the form of a huge fine and a ban from bowl games, players have been scooped up by other schools.

Players are able to transfer to another school and will be eligible to play immediately, so of course other school are looking to grab up the picks of the litter.

Coach Bill was recently on ESPN talking about how other coaches were recruiting his players without even a courtesy phone call and gives reasons that players should stay at Penn State.

Check out the video (above) to hear the coach make his arguments how the NCAA's decision is tough, but not the end of Penn State football.

Penn State Coach Will Stay Despite NCAA Penalties

penn-state-coach-will-stay.jpg

Penn State's new head football coach, Bill O'Brien, plans to stay as Penn State's coach, despite the harsh sanctions imposed on the school by the NCAA.

As we previously mentioned, the school is banned from all postseason play and is losing a lot of scholarships.

Worst of all (for the school at least) is players are allowed to jump ship to another eligible school and be able to play immediately.

Seems like many might start abandoning the sinking ship.

But coach O'Brien will still stay.

He said:

"I knew when I accepted the position that there would be tough times ahead. But I am committed for the long term to Penn State and our student athletes."

We're still not sure how many student athletes will be left when the next season starts.

At least he's committed.

We all hope it works out in the end.

NCAA Severely Punishes Penn State

Penn State's football program was huge, it was an enormous business and the school's main draw for new students.

Now the NCAA has finally spoken out on what they plan to do in wake of the Jerry Sandusky sex abuse scandal.

They have imposed several sanctions that Penn State must follow if they want to continue to be involved in NCAA competitions.

Even thought the penalties are pretty serious, Penn State clearly wants to distance itself from the scandal and move on, as you can see by the fact they removed the Joe Paterno statue from campus.

Check out the video (above) to hear exactly what they have to do to remain NCAA sanctioned.
