Jenna Fischer Gives Us Reasons To Be Happy With News Of Her Off-Broadway Theater Debut!

jenna fischer to make theatrical debut

Pam may have found her new calling in life!

With the popular series The Office coming to an end this May, the cast is preparing for life after Dunder Mifflin and it looks like Jenna Fischer's plans include making her off-Broadway theater debut!

Our favorite former-receptionist dropped the news via Twitter that she would be hitting the stage in Neil Labute’s off-Broadway play Reasons to Be Happy along with Fred Weller, Leslie Bibb and Josh Hamilton (the actor, not the baseball player)!

The play is set to start previews on May 16th, which is coincidentally the same night as the Michael Scott-less series finale of The Office. At least now we’ll have something to be happy about once we’re done crying our eyes out!!

Either way, we couldn’t be more excited for Jenna! Break a leg girl!

LOST's Matthew Fox Gets His London Theatre On!

matthew fox does theatre in london

What does one do after spending years stranded on a fictional, magical island?

You go to do theatre in London, of course!

Lost's Matthew Fox will star with British actress Olivia Williams in Neil LaBute's new play In a Forest, Dark and Deep, at London's Vaudeville Theatre in the West End. The play premieres in March.

Shephard Fox will play Bobby, a "crass American carpenter" in LaBute's play about sibling rivalry.

We're curious to see Matthew Fox take on this role, although anyone familiar with Lost knows that Fox is no stranger to the subject of sibling issues. Cough Claire Cough!

Will U be able to accept Matthew Fox in a role other than Dr. Jack Shephard?

America Ferrera And Julia Stiles Are Hitting The London Stage!

america-ferrera-and-julia-stiles-to-star-in-london-premiere-of-reasons-to-be-pretty

Amazing!

We love them both, so we'd definitely want to see this!

America Ferrera and Julia Stiles are set to star in Neil LaBute's Tony award-nominated play reasons to be pretty on the London stage!

According to producer Howard Panter, the show is "about people being drawn to the superficial, and how we all get seduced by the surface - and how that can be a thorny path."

LaBute's material is generally pretty dark and effed up, so we're curious to see how Stiles and Ferrera would tackle their roles! It would certainly be a change of pace for both of them.

Well, not Stiles - she's on Dexter right now - but you get what we mean!

What do U think?? Are these good casting choices??

While attending the Emmys on Sunday, Lost star Matthew Fox divulged that he is in talks to make his West End debut this spring.

He will be starring in Neil Labute's In a Forest Dark and Deep, a play about two siblings hashing out their troubled lives during a storm-filled evening. The role of the sister has not been cast, nor has a theater been booked.

Sounds intriguing!

David Duchovny Making Stage Debut

wenn5457406.jpg

Californication star David Duchovny is making his Broadway debut in Neil LaBute's The Break of Noon.

He has previously acted “off, off, off, off — as many off’s as you can put in front of Broadway. I’ve never done anything close to this scale.”

Although he has done very theater work in the past!

“In L.A., they’re called showcases,” said David. “In New York, nobody comes to see them so you can’t really call them showcases.”

The play centers around John Smith, a man who “amidst the chaos and horror of the worst office shooting in American history, sees the face of God,” setting off a “maelstrom of disbelief among everyone he knows.”

It will open at NYC's Lucille Lortel Theater on October 28th and begin at Los Angeles' Geffen Playhouse next year.

Duchovny said:

“The setup is grim, of course, but there’s certainly some darker, absurd, humorous moments. It tends towards the spiritual and the human. It’s a very surprising play, with a very surprising stance on tragedy.

I just thought, well, I can stay home and work if I do the theater. That would be a really nice schedule to try. I remember reading this article about Matthew Broderick riding his bike to the theater and it just sounded very romantic to me.

I don’t think of myself as a TV actor. I think of myself as a film, television and Off-Off-Off-Off Broadway actor. Certainly. I wouldn’t succeed at musical theater.”

Ha. We'd love to see him try!

Justin Long Loves Going Down!

wenn5446472jb.jpg

Thanks for the insight, Justin Long!

The actor was recently part of the staged reading of Neil LaBute's Filthy Talk for Troubled Times: Scenes of Intolerance, in which he played a HOrrific misogynist who is particularly vocal about his distaste of a certain sexual act involving a gentleman's tongue and a laaady's vayjayjay!

However, he wants the world to know that there are no similarities between the character and himself!

He says:

"There were parts about certain…well, acts that men supposedly don't like performing on women that I have very strong feelings against. I would very much argue the opposite."

Wonderful. Now that image of you and Drew Barrymore will haunt us forever, bb!

Boo!
