Gilmore Girls Revival Is A Wrinkly Quilt Of Quick-Talking Nostalgia — With An Ending Fans Always Deserved! Read The Review Roundup!

no title

It's been almost a full decade since Lorelai and Rory Gilmore executed their signature rapid-fire repartee while discussing love, life and happiness — and thankfully, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life fills that void in all its small-town glory.

At least, that's what most of the critics had to say in the first round of reviews for the highly-anticipated Netflix revival series!

Fans of the original WB dramedy have to wait until November 25 to see Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel return to Stars Hollow, but the lucky reviewers who got a first look at the four-part miniseries say it's well worth the wait!

While most critics agree the cast seamlessly fit back into their hyper-caffeinated characters, there was also a consensus that the 90-minute episodes felt a bit drawn out and muddled down by extensive cameos.

Like most TV reboots, Gilmore Girls also felt a little stuck in the past — and while the pop-culture references were updated to include Kardashians and man-buns, viewers felt some storylines were forced, sacrificing character development for fan-service.

But on the whole, critics seemed to agree: the Girls are back in town, and fans will NOT be disappointed!

Making A Murderer's Brendan Dassey Will Be Released From Prison While Prosecutors Appeal His Overturned Conviction

Good news for Brendan Dassey during this legal roller coaster.

On Monday, a federal judge ruled that the Making A Murderer subject will be released from prison while prosecutors appeal his overturned conviction.

For those of you who may not know, in 2007, the Wisconsin resident was found guilty of sexually assaulting and murdering Teresa Halbach.

A key part of the now-27-year-old's conviction was his confession, in which he detailed how he and his uncle, Steven Avery, allegedly assaulted and murdered the photographer.

However, the Netflix docuseries seemed to show Brendan was coerced into providing that confession, after his mental ability was called into question and his court-appointed lawyer didn't hesitate to take a deal.

So, in August, Judge William E. Duffin overturned the young man's murder conviction. But,

Chelsea Handler Cries In Inspirational, Emotional Post-Election Chat With Senator Barbara Boxer — Will She Actually Leave The Country?!

We don't blame Chelsea Handler for getting emotional. After all, half the nation decided to elect an incompetent bigot over Hillary Clinton in Tuesday night's presidential election.

But in these troubling times, the TV personality followed through with her Netflix talk show, inviting California Senator Barbara Boxer to discuss Donald Trump's upsetting political victory.

gilmore girls netflix revival

We are SO ready for the Gilmore Girls reboot on Netflix!

As many of you are already aware, that's mostly because the entire cast — except for the late Edward Herrmann — has returned to be in the revival. Yup, even Melissa McCarthy.

It was a little up in the air on whether or not the Oscar nominee was going to be able to return to her role as chef Sookie St. James at first… but thankfully, back in April, the 46-year-old confirmed to Ellen DeGeneres that she would indeed be playing Lorelai Gilmore's bestie once more. Phew!

And it seems it didn't take long for everyone to get back into the groove of things as Alexis Bledel and Lauren Graham opened up to Entertainment Tonight about what it was like returning to their old set on the Warner Brothers lot.

Neil Patrick Harris Basically IS Jim Carrey In Netflix's A Series Of Unfortunate Events! Watch The Creepy New Teaser!

Lemony Snickets!!!

Back when we found out Neil Patrick Harris would be playing the diabolical Count Olaf in Netflix's A Series of Unfortunate Events, we couldn't help but wonder how the actor would compare to Jim Carrey.

Carrey already slayed the role in the 2004 dark comedy with his cartoonishly evil portrayal, which set the expectations high for NPH's incarnation of the malevolent caretaker.

But after watching the first teaser that features the How I Met Your Mother star in character, we can at least say he TOTALLY looks the part!

In the new clip, we finally get a better look at Count Olaf as he meets the Baudelaire children — and just like the eerie mansion he lives in, Harris's Olaf looks exactly like his evil predecessor! (Those eyebrows tho!)

Ch-ch-check out the teaser (below) to compare for yourself — and catch A Series of Unfortunate Events streaming on Netflix on January 13, 2017!
