Penn Badgley BLASTS The Culture Of Fame; Calls Tom Cruise & Other Fame-Soaked Celebs NUTS!

Our lovely, scruffy-haired Penn Badgley is waxing intellectual once again.

While the majority of Gossip Girl fans were fine suspending disbelief for entertainment (it's not like the CW hit ever said they were Mad Men), Penn apparently represents those who thought it was TOO rooted in fantasy to take it seriously.

He tells New York Magazine:

Today Host Matt Lauer Feels That He Got PLAYED By NBC In Jerry Sandusky Interview!

matt lauer feels that nbc set him up for failure(1)

The super controversial Jerry Sandusky interview aired yesterday on the Today show, and after it received a whole mess of backlash, anchor Matt Lauer thinks that NBC set him up for FAILURE!!

Aww man.

Lauer hosted the 30-minute segment, which featured filmmaker John Ziergler and recordings from the child molester, and while he was interviewing Ziegler, the host looked like he was in an agonizing state.

According to reports, Matt feels that producers PLAYED him:

Ann Curry Was MORE POPULAR With Today Show Viewers Than Matt Lauer! ALL THE DEETS From The EXPLOSIVE New York Magazine Article HERE!

matt new york article

It's pretty bad when the actual, behind-the-scenes drama is even WORSE than what's being reported in the news!

But unfortunately, in the case of much-reported-upon, devastating drama on The Today Show that left Ann Curry fired, Matt Lauer looking like a real piece of work, and Good Morning America knocking them out of the ratings for the first time in 16 years, it wasn't just bad - it was a downright CLUSTERF-CK.

On top of the news that came to the light this morning which revealed the widely-criticized news anchor fooled ABC into negotiating a deal he never planned to take to secure his position at NBC, as well as a pay-day and assurance that Ann would get let go, the EXPLOSIVE new article in New York Magazine delves even deeper in the complex back-stabbing, paranoia, and shady negotiations that went on at 30 Rockefeller Center…and it ain't pretty!

For instance, even though Lauer, Today Show executive producer Jim Bell, and several NBC affiliates thought Curry was the problem, there was CLEAR internal research that showed that audiences agreed it was MATT who was the less appealing one, as he came off as "aloof, a little bit holier-than-thou and pompous.”

And despite his attempts to appear sad and regretful about the way everything went down,

Elle Fanning Is Broody In Vogue

Elle Fanning appears in the March 2013 issue of Vogue magazine

Does the fashion world love Elle Fanning or what?!

The precocious 14-year-old appears in the March issue of Vogue looking strikingly mature.

Photographed by Norman Jean Roy, the shots feature Elle lounging in a puff-sleeved lace Valentino gown and gazing deeply into the camera in a sequined white blouse.

While pretty, this spread is nowhere near as awesome as the candy-coated one the actress did for New York Magazine.

What do U think???

Elle Fanning Satisfies Her Sweet Tooth Courtesy Of New York Magazine

Elle Fanning covers New York Magazine February 2013 issue

We are digging into our candy stash as we type, because this spread of Elle Fanning in New York Magazine has us SALIVATING for some sweets!

On the cover, the 14-year-old looks like the queen of bonbons in a Vivienne Westwood-inspired headpiece designed by artist Will Cotton.

For the candy-coated spread, she rocks a plethora of couture confections in a landscape that reminds us of Katy Perry's candy forrest, the Candyland board game, and the Land of Sweets portion of The Nutcracker ballet!

AH-mazing!!!

Does Kim Kardashian Belong On The Cover Of A Magazine?

kim-kardashian-ny-mag-cover.jpg

That's the question New York Magazine poses on the cover of their fall fashion issue, which features Kim Kardashian on it.

The reality star was interviewed by Benjamin Wallace while visiting Kanye West in New York City, and delves further into the love/hate relationship fashion has with the reality star.

Wallace points out all of Kardashian's forays into the fashion world, but "when it comes to high fashion she has been met with a cool shoulder".

Why?

Nicki Minaj Isn't Impressed By The Fashion World

nicki-minaj-new-york-magazine-spring-fashion-issue-cover-2012.jpg

A blurry Nicki Minaj is on the front of New York Magazine's spring issue, making it her third cover this month.

In her interview, the Pink Friday rapper opens up about fashion and her multiple personalities.

Here are some HIGHlights:

On using her looks to get noticed:

"I like the idea of doing something that everyone else is not. I get high off that. Just the idea that other people don’t have the balls to do something—that’s my thing."

On her alter egos Roman, Martha and Barbie:

"I have different personalities, so I just started naming them. Like, there’s one that’s angry, a little more in-your-face. I named that person Roman. He guest stars on my new album. There’s also his mother, Martha. She guest-stars as well. She’s from London. I also have a Barbie character that comes out every now and then. She’s soft-spoken, really sweet, and polite. She’s got a kid’s voice.

On dressing her alter egos:

"If I’m more dressed down in sweats and black hair, that’s the Nicki character. Roman is more outlandish with his dress code—he’ll wear speakers on his butt and stuff like that. Barbie wears little cute dresses that don’t show too much skin."

On whether or not she'll be making another appearance at Fashion Week:

"I’m not impressed to be in that world. I’m in my own world. I think sometimes the fashion world isn’t even about clothes anymore; it’s about this “in” crowd, and I’m not into that. But I’m doing a Barbie fashion show. They did a Barbie for me, and that is super friggin’ amazing."

Do U think the fashion world would say the same about her???
