Given his schedule, we're surprised that he found time for this at all!

Yay For School Spirit! Alec Baldwin Reportedly Dating Recent NYU Grad

alec baldwin reportedly dating recent nyu grad

He graduated from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts all the way back in 1994, and he's STILL bleeding violet…or at least he's dating violet. Ha!

Sources says that Alec Baldwin is dating 2007 NYU grad Hilaria Thomas, who is currently the Yoga Vida studio director in NYC.

The two were spotted with each other at Carnegie Hall's 120th anniversary after-party at the Plaza back in May.

Here's what a source had to say about them:

"He's really into her. He's taking her to the Tonys."

And here's what Hilaria had to say about the dating claims:

"I'm not going to answer these questions."

And on a lighter note, here's what Alec's rep said when asked about it:

"He's actually been dating Russell Brand down in South Florida."

Hmm…we DID see that pic of Russell and Alec! Cute couple if you ask us!

Do U think Alec Baldwin is expressing his NYU pride by dating Hilaria Thomas? Or is he ACTUALLY dating Russell Brand behind Katy's back? LOLz.

Letters To Juliet/13 Going On 30 Director Gary Winick Passes Away

gary winick passes away

The world has lost another talented filmmaker at a tragically young age.

Letters To Juliet/13 Going On 30 director Gary Winick has passed away at 49 years old, after a long battle with brain cancer.

Winick contributed to the film community for his directing & producing efforts, and for launching InDigEnt, an independent film company which was recognized for showing that "digital video production had the capacity to unlock new capacities within short- and low-budget shoots."

He also spent seven years teaching at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.

Thanks for being such a positive contributor/mentor/innovator in the film community, Gary!

Our thoughts go out Winick's family, friends, former students, and peers during this difficult time.

Knowledge Is Power! Meat To Get Nurtrition Labels In 2012

meat to get nutrition labels in 2012

We wonder if we'll be happy OR unhappy with what we find out.

The U.S. Dept of Agriculture announced today that starting Jan 1 2012, meats will require nutrition labels.

The labels will tell you everything you always wanted to know about meat (but were afraid to ask). They'll include information on calories and fat cals, total fat and saturated fat, protein, sodium, and vitamins.

Here's what New York University professor of nutrition Marion Nestle had to say about the new labels:

"This will be very helpful to people who are bewildered by what's in meat, but people will be quite shocked at the calories and fat."

Here's what Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack had to say about the labels:

"There's a growing concern about the growing problem of obesity. So I think it is appropriate for us to provide as much concrete information to consumers as we possibly can, without overwhelming them, so they can make good solid decisions about how many calories they're consuming and how much activity they need."

As long as you continue to eat meat in moderation, and stay away from overly fatty cuts, we're thinking there's no reason to get TOO nervous to learn the truth but maybe just a little nervous.
