This Speech By Football Commentator James Brown Giving Men A Call To Action To End Domestic Violence Is Awe Inspiring

James Brown

In CBS' inaugural Thursday Night Football coverage of the Ravens against the Steelers, commentator James Brown dedicated a large portion of his pre-game interview to the Ray Rice assault video.

In his speech, James touches upon Janay Rice's tragedy, past domestic violence incidents in the sport, and, even more importantly, the fear women have to endure outside of football throughout the country on a daily basis.

His statement is ever-so poignant and we think James and CBS addressed the important topic impeccably well.

rihanna canceled baltimore ravens game cbs domestic violence

This is an odd move!

Rihanna and Kanye West were all set to perform Jay Z's Run This Town at Thursday night's NFL game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens, but CBS pulled the plug on it.

After the Ravens released Ray Rice earlier this week, the TV network didn't want to feature RiRi "due to her being a victim of a high-profile domestic violence incident," according to one report.

This is of course in reference to the incident with Chris Brown back in 2009.

ray rice video released knocking out wife opt

After seeing the awful video of the former Baltimore Raven Ray Rice's elevator attack on his now wife, we were left with tons of questions.

Mainly: how could someone do that?

According to Rice himself, it was because of the hard liquor he and his wife Janay Palmer were chugging before the elevator altercation.

The only problem is that alcohol doesn't make you punch women, remember?

roger goodell mightve seen vid a while back oh no

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has been catching some serious flak lately, and we're starting to think it's WELL DESERVED.

After only suspending Ray Rice for two games for the brutal beating of his wife, which was a fact regardless of seeing the whole video of it, he caved under public pressure and suspended him indefinitely from the NFL after the whole tape was released.

Then, Goodell came under fire because of his apparent willingness to easily take Ray Rice back.

ray rice may get to play nfl again

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has been catching some heat lately.

And if you ask us, he totes deserves it!

We previously mentioned that football star Ray Rice has been suspended indefinitely after a video of him brutalizing his wife in an elevator surfaced.

Rice was originally only suspended for two games, but when a video of him dragging his now wife out of an elevator started making its rounds, the Baltimore Ravens and NFL both changed their tune for some reason. Everyone knew he did it, we're not sure why a video changed that, but whatevs.

After people finally saw the full video, cries for Goodell's resignation started pouring in because
