HUGE Ratings For Oxygen's Glee Marathon!

No surprise here! Just another example of the power of Glee!

Saturday's 12-hour Gleekend Marathon on the Oxygen channel reportedly provided the network with its most watched 11am to 11pm time period EVER!

According to Nielsen Media Research, the marathon drew in more than 1 million total viewers during the 4pm airing of Grilled Cheesus, the 8pm airing of The Substitute, and the 10pm episode Special Education!

Not bad at all!

Those Gleeks don't mess around! They must have begun salivating at the mouth when they heard that the show would be on for 12 hours straight!

America Is Watching More TV Than Ever Before

Congratulations, America!

According to Nielsen, more Americans watched TV in 2010 than ever before.

Looks like, as a whole, we're watching 34 hours per person per week.

During 2010, we went crazy over Hawaii Five-O, Glee, and Fox News (yes, we watched way more Fox News than CNN or MSNBC).

Aside from all of that, we've also started watching "trash-into-treasure" reality shows, such as Pawn Stars, American Pickers, Auction Kings, Auction Hunters, AND Storage Wars.

Guess we'll see if we watch EVEN more TV in 2011 OR maybe we'll go outside a little more often if we can get the TV cable to reach outside.

How much TV do U watch per week? Less than the average? More?

The Talk Doing VERY Well With Women!

Are you a woman aged 25-54? If so, you're probably watching CBS' The Talk.

According to Nielsen ratings at least. The Talk is up +60% with women 25-54.

The show has dominated its time period in a bunch of locations, including Philadelphia, Miami, and Baltimore, among women 25-54.

Here are some more Talk-related stats:

On the 14 CBS Owned Stations, THE TALK improved among women 25-54 by +60% (0.8 from 0.5) and by +50% in the local people metered markets (0.9 from 0.6).

THE TALK tied veteran time period winner “One Life to Live” among women 18-34.

Just Because You DVR It, Doesn't Mean You Necessarily Watch It!

Seriously? We're pretty shocked to learn this.

According to Nielsen ratings, Hawaii Five-0 is the most DVR'd television show of all time, with 3.37 million viewers recording the reboot within a week of its September 20th airing.

Of course, it's still unclear if the aforementioned 3.37 million people ever go back and actually watch it, but a record is still a record!

Nate Berkus Starts Syndicated Season To A Solid But Not Strong Debut

Along with 20th Century Fox's How I met Your Mother, Sony's The Nate Berkus Show topped the charts for the opening day of the syndicated season.

Here are Nate Berkus' rating details, as listed on Broadcasting & Cable:

Nate Berkus, a spin-off of CBS Television Distribution's Oprah, opened at a 1.2 rating/4 share in the weighted metered markets, according to Nielsen Media Research. That was down 8% from its lead-in of 1.3/4, but up 20% from its September 2009 time period average (1.0/3).

Nice to see an Oprah spin-off succeeding, as her main show moves into its final season.

We hope it continues to do well!

Latinos To Top Young Viewership!

Nielsen just released an estimate that 40 percent of new TV homes next year will be Latino marking a 3 percent growth in the number of Hispanic TV households!

And Spanish-language broadcaster Univision reported its first weekly win ever in the 18-49 demographic, beating its English-language counterparts!

Betty White Is Unstoppable!

Is there anything Betty White can’t do? If she started a chain of coffee houses, we’re thinking Starbucks would be in trouble!

Betty White’s sitcom Hot In Cleveland has become the #1 sitcom of this year, reaching 4.2 million viewers, according to Nielsen.

As if Betty White didn’t have enough projects on the horizon, the show has been picked up for a second season. 20 episodes have been ordered, which are slated to air starting in January 2011.

Here’s what Larry W. Jones, president of TV Land, had to say about the show’s success:

"'Hot in Cleveland's' ability to attract viewers from around the globe is a testament to the dynamic leading ladies – Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves, Wendie Malick and Betty White – as well as to the fantastic creative vision of 'Frasier' veteran, Suzanne Martin. We are excited about producing 20 more episodes of this global hit."

That’s all nice to hear, Larry, but let’s be honest…you’ve got the #1 show because you’ve got Betty White. Plain and simple.
