Fresh Lemon Basil Lemonade Is Way Too Easy To Taste This Good!

nina safar summer lemonade basil delicious dessert

They say 8 cups of water a day does a body good, here's a super tasty recipe to help gulp it down! Throw in some fresh lemon basil (and maybe a splash of vodka!) and you will have no problem getting in your water fix for the day.

Ingredients:
5 cups of cold water
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of fresh lemon juice from 6 lemons
1 bunch of lemon basil
ice

Directions:
Make a simple syrup by combining 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar in a pot and simmer over low flame until the sugar dissolves. Once the sugar has dissolved, remove from heat and let it cool off. Take 12 lemon basil leaves and let them sit in the water while it cools off. Meanwhile, squeeze the lemons until you have 1 cup of fresh lemon juice. Once the sugar water has cooled off, remove the lemon basil leaves and place syrup in a large pitcher. Add the lemon juice, remaining 4 cups of water and ice to the pitcher. Garnish with thinly sliced lemon basil leaves and top each glass off with a lemon wedge if desired.

*Tips&Tricks: If you are serving this for adults, add in some vodka!

These cupcakes are light and fluffy with just a hint of lemon (which in my opinion, is just the right amount!) The tart lemon, and the sweet buttercream frosting make for an addicting combination!

Ingredients:
2 cups of flour
1 and 1/3 cup of sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 cup of oil
1 cup of almond milk
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
lemon zest from two lemons
1/2 tsp. lemon extract

Directions:
Combine ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Using an ice cream scooper, fill up 16 regular sized cupcake holders with batter. (each cupcake holder should be about 3/4 full) Bake on 350 for 20-25 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let cool off then frost with buttercream frosting. You can top the cupcakes with fresh lemon zest or candied lemons!

Buttercream Frosting:

Ingredients:
1 box powdered sugar
1/4 cup almond milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 stick butter or margarine

Directions:
Cream together ingredients. Add water or milk to thin frosting, add more powdered sugar to create a thicker frosting.

nina safar baked eggs cups fathers day recipe

Women want flowers, chocolates and cupcakes when it's time to celebrate. Most men just want a good home cooked breakfast! Whip up these easy and tasty egg in cups for your baby daddy or daddy to be!

Baked Egg In Cups:

Ingredients:

6 muffin cups
12 wonton wrappers
1 cup of crushed tomatoes (or leftover matbucha from Shabbat!)
6 eggs
2 green onions, chopped

Directions:

Grease the muffin pan. Gently press 1 wonton wrapper in one muffin cup, along one side. Then, place another wrapper in the same cup along the other side. (the majority of the cup should be covered now with both wonton wrappers) Continue filling all the cups with the remaining wrappers in the same way. Place 1 tablespoon crushed tomatoes in each cup. Break an egg in a clear cup, after checking to make sure there is no blood, gently fold the egg into the wonton wrapper cups. Top with green onions. Fill all of the muffin cups in the same way. Bake in oven on 350′ until eggs are set and yolks are still slightly runny, about 20 minutes.
