Ben Affleck Named OUTSTANDING DIRECTOR For Argo At The DGA Awards! Full List Of Winners HERE!

ben affleck dga awards

Well, we think it's safe to say that the members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences must be kicking themselves right now!

And if they're not, they SHOULD be!

Because after being NOTICEABLY snubbed from the "Best Director" category of the upcoming Academy Awards for his truly magnificent work on Argo, Ben Affleck was named outstanding director for the flick at the 65th Annual Directors Guild of America Awards last night in El Lay, beating out Kathryn Bigelow for Zero Dark Thirty, Tom Hooper for Les Miserables, Ang Lee for Life of Pi and Steven Spielberg for Lincoln!

But what's most telling - at least to us - about the win is that it marks the THIRD time since the DGA Awards started in 1948 that its 15,000 members have voted in this category for a nominee that has been up for the Oscar!

Frankly, between this and the Golden Globe, we're just glad to see that he's being recognized for his outstanding work!

It's MORE than deserved, Ben!

And we think VERY telling of how the Academy might vote for your flick in the categories for which it HAS been nominated!

But only time will confirm that!

Check out the rest of the winners from last night's DGA Awards…AFTER THE JUMP!!!

Jennifer Lawrence Has Some FIGHTING WORDS For Her Fellow Oscar Nominees On Saturday Night Live! Watch HERE!

Okay, so as everyone is probably aware by now, Jennifer Lawrence pretty much DOMINATES everything that she does!

So why would her latest role as last night's host of Saturday Night Live be ANY exception?!

Seriously - you RAWKED the house, gurl!

Of course, it HAD to be expected that the sketch comedy show would skewer the actress' somewhat controversial, mis-interpreted Meryl Streep "dig" during her acceptance speech at the Golden Globe Awards, and she certainly did just that for her opening monologue, when she hit the ground running and ROASTED all the nominees against whom she's competing for the "Best Actress" Academy Award in a few short weeks!

Ch-ch-check her out (above)!

Oh MAN! And the surprise appearance from "Tommy Lee Jones" is just the icing on the HIGHlarious cake, isn't it?!

But that is FAR from all that is worth checking out from last night's episode, folks!

For the SNL team's take on Lance Armstrong's doping scandal, what happened AFTER Katniss won her first Hunger Games, love letters from the Civil War, and Top Chef with DOGS…click AFTER THE JUMP!!!

Seth MacFarlane Explains 5 A.M. Hitler Joke Dud To Oscar Committee!

Geez, Seth! If the joke needs to be explained, it was a dud in the first place!

ET interviewed Seth MacFarlane shortly after he and Emma Stone announced the nominations for the 85th Annual Academy Awards this morning!

Did the reporter demand to know why Ben Affleck was snubbed? Or which rock the Oscar voters vacationed under while Dark Knight Rises and Avengers smashed the box office records!

Nope! He just wanted to know why the soon-to-be Oscar host joked about Adolph Hitler — in regards to the Austrian-German film Amour — and whether or not his wisecrack was pre-approved.

Ch-ch-check out his mumbly response about "slipping it in at the last minute" when "one thing led to another" (above)!

Yes, Seth. That is what she said.

Watch Seth on Sunday, February 24 in what could be the most controversial Academy Awards ceremony yet!
