Oh, boy. This one definitely has us in tears.

Andy Whitfield was a brilliant actor and a helluva human being. The Spartacus star died of non-Hodgkin lymphoma last fall at the age of 37.

Gone does not equal forgotten.

Take a look at the clip (above) and watch Andy bravely battle cancer like it were one of his Roman oppressors from the TV series.

Via Kickstarter.com, those closest to him funded a documentary called Be Here Now — chronicling his cancer diagnosis, subsequent treatments, and his last days as a "butterfly with broken wings."

There are only a few days left to participate in the fundraiser but, thankfully, the filmmakers already exceeded all their monetary goals!

The ending of Andy's story might be tragic, but we're guessing his courageous fight could inspire other cancer survivors and end up doing a lot of good.

And that's pretty cool.
