Before Rooney Mara there was Noomi Rapace.

The Swedish actress, who currently stars in Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, is on the cover of BlackBook magazine's December/January issue looking cute as she peeks over her glittery Miu Miu sunnies.

We like the mysteriousness of Noomi's cover. It leaves us wanting more!

Vanity Fair's Seeing Stars

Vanity Fair is going back to basics with their 17th annual Hollywood issue.

Unlike previous issues, the March cover doesn't feature any teenagers just "the most exciting actors and actresses of the moment".

So who made the cut?

From left to right: Ryan Reynolds, Jake Gyllenhaal, Anne Hathaway, James Franco, Jennifer Lawrence, Anthony Mackie, Olivia Wilde, Jesse Eisenberg, Mila Kunis, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Andrew Garfield, Rashida Jones, Garrett Hedlund, and Noomi Rapace.

Oh and somehow Robert Duvall and a baby lion qualified too.

Rooney Mara Covers Vanity Fair W

rooney-mara-w-magazine-cover-february-2011.jpg rooney-mara-w-magazine-february-2011-1.jpg

One magazine's trash, is another magazine's treasure and that's exactly what happened with W's February issue.

Back in December executives of The Girl With A Dragon Tattoo were talking with Vanity Fair about doing a cover shoot with the film's star Rooney Mara.

The catch: they'd have to use Jean-Baptiste Mondino as the photographer.

A rep at VF explained:

"[Producer] Scott Rudin wanted to use their own set photographer, Mondino, to take the shots. We like Mondino’s work, but said no way — that we would only use our own photographer. So they went with W."

And this is what they ended up with, Rooney styled as her character Lisbeth Salander.

There's also a report that Vanity Fair snubbed Rooney a second time by putting the movie's original star Noomi Rapace on their Young Hollywood issue that's out in March.

Ouch.
