Tom Hanks Can't Get Lucky With Broadway BOMB!

tom-hanks-lucky-guy-nora-ephron bad presales broadway

Oh, Tommy boy! You POOR guy!

First, the supposedly-epic Cloud Atlas gets absolutely no award season love and, now, your brand new Broadway play might be D.O.A!

Tom Hanks' Lucky Guy doesn't open for another few months, but early sales figures are verging on the mediocre!

One would think a stageplay written by the late Nora Ephron and featuring one of Hollywood's most legendary actors would be a surefire success!

Unfortunately, while screen stars like Daniel Craig and Hugh Jackman once smashed Broadway's box-offices, the novelty is evidently wearing off.

Need proof? Just look to the abysmally received Katie Holmes' dramz, Dead Accounts!

Even worse, some suggest the man who played Forrest Gump is yesterday's news! Noooo! Blasphemy!

Lucky Guy doesn't debut until March, so there's plenty of time to turn around those pre-sale numbers!

Tom Hanks Is A Lucky Guy To Be Making Broadway Debut In Nora Ephron's Last Play

We heard it was a possibility, but now it has been confirmed. Tom Hanks is coming to Broadway!

The Oscar-winning actor will make his debut in Nora Ephron's Lucky Guy, which follows the controversial career of a Mike McAlary, a New York columnist who won a Pulitzer Prize just before his death in 1998.

Previews for the show at the Broadhurst Theatre will begin on March 1 and opening night is scheduled for April 1.

We're very excited to see! Not only is it Tom Hanks, but it's the Sleepless In Seattle and You've Got Mail writer's last work finished before her death this past June.

While it's sad she won't be able to see one of her favorite actors bring her words to life, we're just happy that others can.

Nora Ephron's Funeral Was Better Than Any Of Ours Will Be

Everyone Should Be Jealous Of Nora Ephron's Funeral 11

Some people just know how make an exit!

Nora Ephron was certainly one of those special people.

The famous writer/director, who passed away complications from leukemia last month, pre-planned her own send-off. Naturally, this meant her memorial service turned out to be as entraining, heartwarming, and hilarioooos as any of her movies!

Nora had every detail planed — including the location (Alice Tulley Hall in NYC), who was going to speak and even how much time each speaker would get.

Some of the celeb spears that make her list were Martin Short and Tom Hanks & Rita Wilson, who acted out a sketch about Ephron and her husband!

Um… can we get that too? LOL!

Other guests included: Sen. Al Franken, Barbara Walters, Diane Sawyer, Alan Alda, Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter, Rob Reiner, Jon Hamm, Jennifer Westfeldt.

At the end all party funeral attendees were served pink champagne!

Truly an amazing send-off for a truly amazing lady!
