Adrian Peterson, NFL running back, is currently suspended from the Minnesota Vikings.
He's facing child abuse charges for the overzealous disciplining of his son with a switch (thin tree branch). After the whole Ray Rice domestic violence scandal, the NFL was closely watched for how they'd react.
Peterson ended up being suspended and forced to stay away from all team activities.
Now he's due to appear in court this morning for his first hearing.

Hope Solo is used to making saves, but is her story of how the altercation with her nephew and sister went down credible enough to save her any further jail time?!
Hope was released from jail and pleaded not guilty to both domestic violence charges! She had been arrested over the weekend for allegedly assaulting her sister and nephew, who reportedly had visible injuries.
Going against police reports that mentioned that Hope was "intoxicated and upset," Hope's lawyer stated the following in her not guilty plea:
"In fact, our investigation reveals that Hope was assaulted and injured during this unfortunate incident."
It was ordered that Hope stay away from the alleged victims as a result! We hate seeing such violent family drama.
We'll keep you updated as this story develops!

Columbus Short's legal dramz won't quit!
The former Scandal star had pleaded not guilty yesterday to a felony battery charge as a result of an alleged brawl that seriously injured a dude in a West Hollywood restaurant in March.
And the deetz of the attack are GRUESOME.
Despite Columbus' attorney's efforts to fast-track the case to be closed before a preliminary hearing, the Deputy District Attorney David Schorr AND Superior Court Judge Keith L. Schwartz agreed that the injuries the diner sustained were too brutal to qualify.
The victim is claiming Columbus knocked him unconscious and fractured his left eye socket. YEESH.
Olivia Pope would NOT be proud of her (ex) warrior!
And unfortunately for him, this will only help his wife in that icky domestic violence scandal!
