There's no better way to get guests to a party than with Pi!
At least, that's what they're hoping at the New York Film Festival, where Ang Lee's Life Of Pi will premiere September 28th.
The adaptation of the best-selling novel will open the festival, as did Lee's 1997 drama The Ice Storm.
This makes Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon director Lee only the fourth filmmaker to ever receive this honor more than once, which must mean that critics have finally forgiven him for 2003's HULK.
Life of Pi will also mark the first time a 3D movie has opened the festival. Those glasses probably look pretty silly with tuxedos.
