The ladies of The View got fired up, as they so often do, over a sensitive issue: sin taxes.

These "sin taxes" are basically taxes on things like sugary soft drinks that are meant to discourage people from buying them.

The whole idea is that obese people tend to buy less healthy foods and their obesity racks up billions of dollars in healthcare.

Melissa Joan Hart was there as a guest host but barely got a word in because things started to get a little heated.

The main problem is that some of the more unhealthy foods are actually way cheaper than the healthy stuff.

So a family on a budget could really run into some trouble with these proposed taxes.

The obesity in America is really getting out of control.

The United States has the highest rate of obesity in the entire world. Right now, 35.7% of American adults are obese, as are 17% of our children!

So it's not all that surprising that we're requiring larger and larger coffins!

On TLC, there is a show called 600lb Mom: Race Against Time, a show about Dominique Lanoise, a single mom from Miami.

Dominique did two things, she raised her six kids, and ate non-stop.

Sadly, she passed away because she couldn't stop her eating.
