The Ohio State University has suffered a tragic loss this weekend, as senior defensive lineman and wrestler Kosta Karageorge's body was discovered in a dumpster in Columbus on Sunday.
The 22-year-old was reported missing five days before he was found just a few blocks from his apartment with what police are saying was a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Police also found a handgun in the same dumpster as Kosta's body; however, it is unclear if it belonged to him.
His mother Susan Karageorge recently revealed that he had suffered from multiple concussions and that he had sent her a text message shortly before he went missing, in which he apologized for being an "embarrassment" and said the injuries had his "head all f**ked up."
Students held a late night vigil for Kosta on campus Sunday along with members of the marching band, and there will most likely be a moment of silence in his honor at Ohio State's upcoming football game against the Wisconsin Badgers.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Kosta's family and loved ones at this incredibly difficult time.
