OKCupid CEO Is Guilty Of Donating To Anti-Gay Causes Too, Even Though His Site Slammed Firefox Founder Brendan Eich For Doing The Same Thing!

We’re not sure whether OKCupid CEO Sam Yagan literally lives in a glass house or not but he definitely just threw a stone that he shouldn’t have!

It was last week that his dating site shut down access to anyone trying to log in using Firefox!

The reason: the web browser’s parent company Mozilla was co-founded by a man named Brendan Eich who back in 2008 donated to the campaign trying to pass Prop 8 and effectively ban same-sex marriage in California!

OKCupid looked like they were standing up for gay rights with the move and gained attention around the world because of it.

But here’s the thing…

Head honcho Sam Yagan has contributed to anti-gay causes too!

Sound the trumpet, and call the hounds! It's time to go Firefox hunting!

The newly anointed CEO of Firefox, Brendan Eich, reportedly gave a $1,000 donation back in 2008 to support the thankfully now defunct Prop 8.

In a very upstanding move, OkCupid has subsequently blocked its website (partially) to anyone using Firefox.

Meanwhile, the following, AH-Mazing message appears to anyone wishing to access OkCupid from the aforementioned browser:

Guess Who Really Enjoys Oral Sex? Vegetarians!

okcupid-claims-vegetarians-enjoy-oral-sex-more-than-meat-eaters.jpg

Just because they don't eat animals, doesn't mean they don't love sausage and fish! AY-OH!

OkCupid.com thought it would be fun to find out just who loves oral sex more. In a rather ironic turn, it seems that vegetarians love oral sex WAY MORE than folks who munch on tacos and wieners.

Oh, we've got a million of them! Don't even get us started!

Check out the graph from the site of people polled (above). Look at how many more veggies enjoy doing downtown than meat eaters. It's like … staggering!

OkTrends people: believe them, live by them, accept them.

Twitter Is Bad For Relationships

Twitter ends relationships

A new survey from the dating site OkCupid has found that Twitter can be bad for relationships!

Based on a pole of over 830,000 users that contrasted the length of relationships for those who use Twitter every day vs. "everyone else", the frequent tweeter's relationships last less time on average!

The dating site wrote:

"Frequent tweeters have shorter real-life relationships than everyone else, probably via some bit.ly hack. Unfortunately, we have no way to tell who's dumping who here; whether the twitterati are more annoying or just more flighty than everyone else."

Apparently, these results were true regardless of age or gender AND the "twitterati" have slightly higher odds of "masturbating today". LOLz!

Considering they're on the internet more often, they do have more of a temptation to check out those sites that are blocked at work! Ha!

This is kind of dissapointing news because we always thought social networking like Twitter was supposed to bring us closer together, not push us apart. Then again, we're not completely sure how scientifically accurate a study from OkCupid can be.

Still inneresting nonetheless!

Do U think a relationship will be as short as a tweet for frequent Twitter users or is this survey not very convincing?

Dating On Facebook Returns!

Filed under: Love LineTech TalkBusiness BlitzFacebook

iwould facebook dating app

Reminds us of the good ole Facebook days. You guys remember "Random Play?" Ha!

Columbia University MBA grads Jon Budish and Tariq Chaudhri have developed a Facebook dating app called iWould, which allows you to anonymously look for that special someone.

Here's how it works, as described on the iWould Facebook page:

Step 1. Select 1-10 people to include in your "iWould List."
Step 2. Submit your iWould List
Step 3. If someone on your "iWould List" has included you in their "iWould List", you will both receive an email informing you of the match.

Here's what Budish had to say about the app:

"We're trying to help people connect with someone they're having a hard time connecting with, someone in your life."

The app currently has 3,000+ monthly users, and it's been given a valuation of $750,000 from a "private investor."

Sounds like fun. This should def appeal to the Plenty Of Fish/OkCupid! crowd…

Will U try out iWould?
