Sam Mendes And Kevin Spacey To Work Together Again

Last time they collaborated, they made American Beauty. We’re going into this one very optimistically!

Kevin Spacey and Sam Mendes are joining forces once again, this time in the theatre for a production of William Shakespeare’s Richard III.

The play will open at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York, and will then make its way to London’s Old Vic theatre, where Kevin Spacey serves as artistic director.

Spacey will play the lead character, Richard III. Here’s what Kevin had to say about the opportunity:

"With such a remarkable character before me, I have a feeling this one is going to be a memorable experience."

More from Spacey on Mendes’ directing skills:

"Sam is one of the finest directors I have had the pleasure to work with and to gain this opportunity is beyond my wildest hopes.”

Mendes has been quoted as saying that Richard III is “a role I think Kevin is born to play.”

Looks like a wonderful collaboration in the works! We’re sure this will be fantastic!

Are U excited to see this American Beauty duo teaming up again?

Macca Cares About Theater

Actor Kevin Spacey has announced that Paul McCartney will be playing a one-off benefit show to help save the roof of the historic Old Vic theatre in London!

The theatre has had a leaky roof since it was damaged in the bombing of London during World War II!

Macca will be playing for 450 people at The Boiler House at Battersea Power Station and Spacey, the theatre's artistic director, says:

"We are thrilled Paul McCartney will lend his extraordinary talents on the evening alongside brilliant artists who've generously donated their artworks for auction. It's set to be quite a night."

Money raised will go the the theatre's trust as well as McCartney's Meat Free Monday campaign.

Good for him!
