noah box office hit numbers opening weekend beats divergent

Moses may have parted the sea, but Noah made people part with some C-notes!

The flood knocked Divergent from its top spot to a respectable number 2 $26.5 mil.

Divergent Destroys The Haters- And The Muppets! Shailene Woodley Is Now A Box Office Smasher!

divergent opening weekend box office millions muppets most wanted

Divergent did NOT diverge from expectations this weekend.

The film adaptation of the popular book series was on the high side of its tracking, earning a solid $56 million in its opening weekend.

Shailene Woodley has herself a bona fide hit! No wonder the sequel already has the green light!

Unfortunately it's not easy being green as the second place Muppets Most Wanted learned. The star-studded Disney comedy scored a disappointing $16.5 million despite an incredibly popular viral ad campaign.

Maybe if Kermie got himself some seksi back tattoos…

P.S. - In case you missed it, check out our exclusive interview with Shailene and the rest of the cast the Divergent premiere HERE!

Veronica Mars Continues Its Killer Opening Weekend! See How Much It Made In Only 291 Theaters!

veronica mars movie

What do you call a massive hit on a small scale? Well, you can call her anything that you like, but her name is Veronica!

The Veronica Mars movie is experimental in many ways, not the least of which is raising its budget from fans on Kickstarter.

The movie was also only released in 291 theaters in North America for its opening weekend, while being made available for rent at the same time.

And the film's biggest potential fans, its backers, were (mostly) able to download it free!

Despite all this working against them, Kristen Bell and the rest of the Neptune players were still able to pull in an impressive

Captain America Sequel Tracking An $80 Million Opening! Expected To Grow As Big As Chris Evans' Biceps!

captain america the winter soldier box office

How big is Captain America: The Winter Soldier going to get? Well, if Chris Evans' muscles are anything to go by, much bigger than the last one!

Box office experts are tracking it to surpass $80 million in its opening weekend alone!

The sequel is expected to benefit from what's called the "halo effect" of mega-hit The Avengers. Cap's teammates already saw big jumps in their opening weekend takes.

The first Thor took in $65.7 mil, but after The Avengers, the thunder god made it rain with $85.7 million! Likewise, Tony Stark got even richer, going from $128.1 million for Iron Man 2 to $174.1 million in Iron Man 3.

That's over a 30% increase in both franchises! Captain America: The First Avenger also opened to about $65 mil, so $80 mil is looking like an easy hurdle!

And repeat business might be good too! Word is that both Disney and Marvel are so happy with the film's quality, they've already greenlit number three!

We guess green is the operative word!
