New York Magazine Goes Hollywood And Gets An Agent

New York Magazine agent

Everybody is looking for an agent these days! Even magazines!

We never really thought about it, but talent agency ICM has been repping the New York Times for years and has since brokered 30 film and TV option deals for their articles.

New York Magazine now wants a piece of the Hollywood action and has signed with the agency as well.

In the deal, the magazine would share revenue and receive credit in any film made from its articles.

Although it just found representation, the magazine isn't a stranger to inspiring major motion pictures from their articles. Saturday Night Fever, Goodfellas, and American Gangster were just a few films that hatched from stories featured in New York Magazine.

Inneresting!

Did U know magazines and newspapers were repped by talent agents?

The New Version of Dune Is Doomed

Filed under: Film FlickersR.I.P.Sad SadBusiness Blitz

dune movie is doomed

At least we'll always have the David Lynch version…

Back in November, we heard that Paramount planned to put the new version of Dune into turnaround and sell off the rights if progress wasn't made by Spring.

Unfortunately, significant progress has NOT been made, and the studio has decided to scrap the project, after four years of trying to put it together!

Here's what Richard P. Rubinstein, the man who controls the rights to Frank Herbert's novel, had to say about it:

“Paramount’s option has expired and we couldn’t reach an agreement. I’m going to look at my options, and whether I wind up taking the script we developed in turnaround, or start over, I’m not sure yet.”

“Sure, it’s frustrating, how long this has taken, but most of what I’ve done that worked out well over the years, like the miniseries The Stand, took a long time."

"Since I know what I want, eventually, I’ll find someone who’ll agree with me. What I like is that talent has interesting things to say on how they would approach it.”

“Right now, Dune has no commitments or attachments."

It's too bad Paramount wasn't able to make this happen, but we suppose it'll re-emerge one day at another studio.

Are U sad to hear that Dune is no longer happening?

Jersey Shore Heads To Italy…This APRIL!

Oh man! They aren't wasting any time, are they?

After announcing that the fourth season of Jersey Shore will be taking place in Italy, sources close to MTV have revealed that the guidos and guidettes are scheduled to start filming in April, and will depart US soil on the 18th of that month!

According to the insider, the tentative plan is to spend about two full months across the pond, with the option to return to Seaside Heights to film there on Memorial Day weekend!

Oh man. We can't even begin to imagine what kind of ridiculous shenanigans Snooki Snickers and company are going to get themselves into out of the country!

They had enough difficulty acclimating to Miami in season two! Ha!

This is going to be ratings GOLD! LOLz!

What do U think?? Are U excited for Jersey Shore in Italia??

Camille Legally Free To Walk Away From Real Housewives of Beverly Hills!

camille-grammer-renegotiates-contract-so-she-can-leave-real-housewives-of-beverly-hills

We guess she's pretty much gone! Oh well!

Sources close to Bravo have revealed that the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Camille Grammer has negotiated a deal with the network which gives her the ability to walk away from the reality series whenever she wants!

As we've reported, Kelsey's ex was apparently unhappy with the way she's been portrayed on the show - as if its editing's fault - and so she hired lawyer Larry Stein to revise the terms of her contract, which previously stated that Bravo could let her go, but NOT the other way around.

However, Stein has successfully gotten her contract amended to suit her needs, but don't expect an announcement anytime soon!

We're hearing that Camille does intend to the leave Real Housewives behind, but she's not going to announce her decision until after the reunion show airs later this month.

Her rep confirms:

"Camille hasn’t made a decision and won’t until after the reunion show."

And a spokesperson for Bravo also reiterates:

"We are focused on finishing off season 1 strong; we just taped a very explosive reunion that will answer a lot of viewers' questions. No decisions or announcements have been made regarding anything on a season 2."

Well, there you have it!

Personally, as sorry as we feel for her in regards to the divorce, we doubt that the show portrayed her in a way that isn't at least mostly true to her likeness!

And we'll just let that speak for itself.

Thoughts?? Team Camille or Team Bravo??
