A year ago, a SeaWorld trainer, Dawn Brancheau, was pulled underwater by a killer whale and not pulled out until 45 minutes later.
The trial has been going on since last year.
The prosecution is arguing that there were warnings given that the whale was very possessive and wouldn't easily release something after pulling it underwater.
During a trick where the whale floated upside down next to her while she lay on her back and held his flipper, the whale grabbed her by the pony tail and pulled her under.
They said that none of the trainers should have ever been anywhere near where the whale could get to them.
SeaWorld is being charged in her death and would owe $75,000 if they lose.
An expert in wild whales had testified, saying:
"It looks like a large predatory animal took a behavior seen in the wild and it ended in a catastrophic conclusion.
Everyone knew not to test him and they knew he was possessive and would not return objects."
So sad that her death could have possibly been prevented. Maybe it wouldn't have happened if they didn't keep wild animals in captivity.
