Pulse Nightclub Will Forever Be An LGBT Memorial After Orlando Buys It For $2.25 Million!

This is the happiest news on earth!

As you surely remember, the LGBT community lost 49 of its members when a gunman opened fire on Pulse Nightclub back in June — marking the worst mass murder in modern American history.

Unfortunately, Donald Trump's surprise ascension to the White House on Tuesday was just another setback for queer Americans… but we're happy to say there's still some good in the world.

That's because it was also announced on Tuesday that the city of Orlando is planning on buying Pulse and turning it into a permanent LGBT and Latinx memorial!

Mayor Buddy Dyer revealed the Florida city's $2.25 million plan via video earlier this week, saying:

Sia Reunites With Maddie Ziegler For Their Greatest Music Video Yet! Watch The Orlando Tribute HERE!

The dream team is back at it!

Maddie Ziegler has been a busy girl as of late, but the teen sensation has once again teamed up with Sia to bless us with yet another epic music video!

The Aussie songstress unexpectedly dropped her latest single The Greatest featuring Kendrick Lamar over Labor Day weekend, complete with a video that once again features the Dance Moms star in a unitard and wig.

In the clip, Maddie leads a flashmob of mini-squatters through an abandoned apartment building — and has no shortage of intense facial expressions along the way.

There are actually 49 dancers featured in the vid — to represent the 49 lives lost in the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando.

Watch Jennifer Lopez & Lin-Manuel Miranda Make Their TV Debut Of Orlando-Inspired Song Love Make The World Go Round On TODAY!

Last week, Jennifer Lopez and Lin-Manuel Miranda released their song Love Makes the World Go Round, which was written in response to the Orlando shooting last month.

So we were happy to see survivors and family members of the victims of the tragedy in the crowd when J.Lo and Lin performed their upbeat peace anthem on Monday's TODAY show!

The pop star and the Hamilton creator — fresh off his final Broadway performance as the titular character — took the stage in Rockefeller Plaza and jammed out to the new single.

Before her performance, Lopez explained that she's had the song for eight months, but that it took on new life after she "heard it in a different way" in the wake of the shooting — only then did she approach Miranda about rapping on the track.

She explained:

"I was like, 'The world needs this right now. The world really needs the message of love being the answer. That's what really matters; that's what really makes the world go round, nothing else. Hate, anger, it's not gonna get us anywhere.'"

The Orlando Shooting Set Off A Shockwave Of Threats Against Universities & Gay Bars In New York

How terrifying.

According to The New York Post, there has been a ton of frightening threats made against New York gay clubs and universities following the Orlando shooting this past weekend.

While some people might think that violence dies down after a tragedy like a mass shooting, this is simply not the case. In fact, menacing threats tend to INCREASE after a horrific crime.

A member of the NYPD explained:

"Whenever things like this happen, we get a lot more calls."

Disgusting. There are too many misguided and disgusting people out there.

To make matters particuarly scary, the president of New York University received an email from a person who claimed that an Orlando style attack was just around the corner for American universities and colleges. The author claimed the plot was in retaliation for the killing of a Taliban leader back in May.

In addition to the horrific threat, someone called gay venue Monster Bar and declared:

RuPaul's Drag Race Alum Who Survived Orlando Shooting Honors Victims With A Touching Tattoo

Absolutely beautiful…

As we reported, RuPaul's Drag Race alum Roxxxy Andrews — along with Kenya Michaels — was at Pulse the night Omar Mateen killed 49 people using an AR-15 assault rifle.

Luckily, both performers survived.

What makes the event even more tragic was that Pulse was Andrews' home club, where he performed for ten years.

On Wednesday, the drag queen got a tattoo to honor the victims, many of whom were his friends.

Elton John Pays An Incredible Tribute To The Orlando Shooting Victims — 'Tonight We Are Winning The Fight Against Prejudice'

Now THIS is the kind of response we're talking about!

On Tuesday night, Elton John gave a touching and inspirational tribute to the victims of the Orlando shooting mid-concert. The message was just what we needed after these dark past few days and shameful silence from a TON of celebrities.
