Oscar Pistorius might not be able to apply for parole because of his prosthetic legs!

Just last month, Oscar Pistorius was sentenced to 5 years in prison for shooting and killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. However, the former sprinter was hoping to appeal for parole after serving 10 months behind bars.

Unfortunately for Oscar, sources are saying that wont be possible because officers would NOT be able to attach monitoring ankle bracelets to his removable prosthetic legs.

Prison officials have reportedly told the double amputee that he would not qualify for the monitoring system due to his disability, and under South African law electronic bracelets may not be placed on the wrist because they are too easy to remove.

Oscar Pistorius: Verdict Is In & He's Going To Prison — For 5 Years!

And it's done.

Oscar Pistorius has just received five years for the death of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp.

Though Pistorius was convicted of culpable homicide, he was ultimately cleared of murder. Under South African law, the once celebrated athlete will have to serve at least one-sixth of his sentence — 10 months — before he can ask to be considered for parole. The judge also gave Pistorius a three-year suspended sentence for a firearms charge.

Oscar insisted throughout the entire case, sometimes even through tears, that it was a horrible mistake when he shot Reeve in 2013 on Valentine's Day. He had thought she was an intruder, so the the double-amputee sprinter grabbed his gun and shot at her through the bathroom door.

We're hearing the usually emotional Pistorius remained stoic and calm during his sentencing.

We have a feeling his expression is going to change in the next 10 months.

And this is why we have judges, to make the hard decisions.

Olympian Oscar Pistorius has been on trial all week after being convicted of shooting and killing his girlfriend last Valentine's Day.

Judge Thokozile Masipa's ruling will be handed down next week, but until then, the sides are definitely at odds.

Prosecutor Gerrie Nel thinks Pistorius should get at least 10 years, saying, "The minimum term that society will be happy with."

oscar pistorius convicted of culpable homicide

Many folks were outraged that this former Olympian wasn't convicted yesterday of premeditated murder, or just straight up 'murder' in general.

Well, Oscar Pistorius was found GUILTY of at least one charge — even if it was the lesser of all the charges.

On Friday, Oscar was convicted of culpable homicide, which is about the same as manslaughter in the U.S., and could get a sentence that could see him under house arrest or sent to jail for a maximum fifteen years!
