This Comedian Is Getting A Ton Of Heat For Fat-Shaming Video 'Dear Fat People'! See Why People Think Her Jokes Crossed The Line!

Comedian Nicole Arbour made quite the name for herself after she posted a video on YouTube titled "Dear Fat People" which is full of mean-spirited jokes about obesity.

In the video, which has already garnered over 18 million views, Arbour rants that fat-shaming was "not a thing" and just made up by overweight people — she even compares it to "the race card."

The comedian has expectedly received a ton of heat for her insensitive jokes, which she disguises as contrarian satire, and has caused some notable names to express their criticism.

My Big Fat Fabulous Life star Whitney Way Thore, who also started the No Body Shame campaign, said in a response video:

"Fat-shaming is a thing; it's a really big thing, no pun intended. It is the really nasty spawn of a larger parent problem called body-shaming, which I'm fairly certain everyone on the planet, especially women, has experienced."

YouTube star Grace Helbig also felt like she needed to make a video responding to Arbour, in which she highlights her frustrations that Arbour's malicious jokes make her seem like less of a comedian. She says:

"To me it looks like you're using a controversial and personal subject to leverage subscribers and attention in a negative way…Comedy can be a really powerful tool, and I wish we could use it more respectfully."

Facebook Removes 'Feeling Fat' Option From Status Updates Amid Backlash!

It's amazing how sometimes all it takes is one person to bring about real change!

It also usually helps to start an online petition.

That's how some body positivity folks got Facebook to remove their "feeling fat" option from its status drop down box.

Catherine Weingarten and the group Endangered Bodies started campaigning online, sending out a petition through Change.org, trying to get Facebook to remove the option.

The petition read:

Basically, they've had to fatten up their crash test dummies!

If a person is obese, they apparently have a 78% higher risk of dying in a car crash!!

The larger a person is, the more out of position they are in the car seat, which makes things really dangerous during an accident.

Researchers have found that overweight military personnel who live at higher elevations were less likely to become obese, unlike those at lower heights!

The study was conducted over six years and included 100,000 men and women in the U.S. Army or Air Force who had been in service for at least two years. Their findings were curiouser and curiouser! According to the New York Times:
