Padma Lakshmi On Recent Custody Ruling

Padma Lakshmi says she didn't lose anything in her custody battle.

While walking the red carpet at "The Blossom Ball," a fundraiser for women suffering from endometriosis (a disease that effects the uterus), the Top Chef host got VERY emotional about the legal battle over her 2-year-old daughter, Krishna, with computer mogul Adam Dell.

Padma teared up as she told reporters:

"I was told I had a very small chance of ever having a baby. EVER having one. [Krishna] just turned 2 years old and she's a beautiful, healthy, happy baby, and I didn't lose anything. There was nothing to lose — she's a delight and joy."

It's understandable that Padam would get a little emo by the thought of her daughter at the charity event. She acknowledges how lucky she is to have had a child at all, saying:

"I had a very small percentage of a chance of ever having a baby. What we're doing here tonight is actually helping the 10 million other women [who are affected with endometriosis] to have the possibility of the same joy that I have."

AW! We knew we loved her for a good reason!

She is beautiful, talented and incredibly humble. She must be a fantastic momma!

Padma Lakshmi Was A Size 14 After Having Her Baby

Padma Lakshmi

So refreshing to hear!

Most celeb moms seem to magically float back to their skeletal size the week after giving birth.

However there was no magic in Padma Lakshmi's weightless. The Top Cheif host says after giving birth to her daughter, Krishna Thea, it took forever to take off the pounds.

“I wasn’t like those girls who give birth and are back on the runway. It took me probably six months to gain 45 pounds and I would say it took me double that time to lose it.”

Admitted Padma. The gorgeous Bravo star said the whole experience taught her a lot about humility, and fashion.

“I did learn a new way to dress after I had [Krishna]. I was on the side of every bus in town [for Top Chef]. I was on billboards. And I was a size 14. And not that being a size 14 is even that big, but it was big for me … I went up 10 dress sizes in six months. I had no idea how to dress. I’d never worn Spanx before!”

Well, not a lot of women are gonna feel bad for you about that! LOL.

We're sure Padma looks great at any size.
