This is GREAT to hear!

A little over a year ago, Game of Thrones actor and Dr. Feelgood rocker Wilko Johnson made the sad announcement that he was diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer and that he would NOT be undergoing chemotherapy treatment!

Well it looks like he has some good news to share as his manager Lisa Climie says he had the tumor in his pancreas successfully removed! She made the exciting announcement on his Facebook page, saying:

Experimental Cancer Vaccine Reduces Tumors Up To 80%

Yay! Science has just given cancer patients an awesome Christmas present in the form of a vaccine proven to shrink cancerous tumors in mice by up to 80 percent.

Although it has only been demonstrated to be effective against similar mouse versions of breast and pancreatic tumors, researchers believe it can work for other types as well, including colorectal and ovarian cancers and multiple myeloma.

This is a breakthrough in cancer research that has been decades in the making. Sandra Gendler, a professor at the Mayo Clinic which partnered with the University of Georgia to develop the vaccine, said:

Walter Isaacson, the biographer with whom Steve Jobs trusted his life story with, was told by Jobs himself that he refused life-saving surgery on his pancreatic cancer.

Jobs instead tried alternative therapies, which he later regretted.
