And in today's "wait… what?" news: Transformers: Age of Extinction has launched a Best Picture Oscar campaign.
How did we miss this??
If you're wondering why that movie would be gunning for Best Picture, you're not alone. It's obviously got Best Picture on lock, so why bother with a campaign? LOLz!!
Movie studio Paramount Pictures has started with "For Your Consideration" ads trying to sway Academy members to vote for their films.

Transformers: Age of Extinction is vying for not only Best Picture, but also Best Director (Michael Bay), Best Adapted Screenplay (Ehren Kruger) and Best Original Song (Imagine Dragons - Battle Cry).
There are other Paramount films we feel have a slightly better shot at Best Picture, like maybe Interstellar perhaps??
Sure, the fourth Transformers movie made $1 billion in worldwide ticket sales but is that enough to earn the respect of The Academy?
Our prediction is no, no it won't, but hey, that's just our opinion.
Does Transformers: Age of Extinction deserve the Oscar for Best Picture?
- HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA (67%)
- Umm… no… (33%)
