An environmental science textbook in India has sparked outrage among parents for encouraging young children to suffocate kittens!
It's all in the name of learning how breathing works, apparently, as if it wasn't self-explanatory.
Called Our Green World, the textbook has been used in schools since April 2016.
The first chapter in the textbook reads:
"No living thing can live without air for more than a few minutes. You can do an experiment. Take two wooden boxes. Make holes on the lid of one box. Put a small kitten in each box. Close the boxes. After some time open the boxes. What do you see? The kitten inside the box without holes has died."
What the actual fuck?!
The publisher, Parvesh Gupta, has already issued a statement saying that the book will no longer be published for the upcoming school year. He said:
"A couple of months ago, some parents called and complained about the science experiment in the book. They said it was harmful for children and cruel to the animals."
We do not even wanna know what was going through the writer's mind when they came up with this "science experiment."
People are psychotic.
