What amazing news!
On Monday, North Carolina's governor-elect Roy Cooper announced his plans to repeal the anti-transgender bathroom law known as HB2. The measure, which requires everyone to use restrooms corresponding with the sex on their birth certificate, was passed in March 2016.
As we previously reported, the discriminatory law incited anger amongst the LGBT community and numerous celebrities. In fact, many musical acts like like Maroon 5 and Nick Jonas cancelled concerts in the state after the hateful legislation was passed.
Now it looks like Cooper is promising to repeal the bill after the Charlotte City Council voted to repeal its own local nondiscrimination ordinance.
