Patricia Arquette accepted GLAAD's Vanguard Award last night at the organization's 28th annual Media Awards, and during her moving acceptance speech, she paid tribute to her late sister Alexis, who passed away due to AIDS complications in September.

Patricia didn't hold her emotions back in a very moving speech, and in it, she even called out Attorney General Jefferson Sessions for his lack of apparent care about LGBT and transgender victims of violent crime.

Moonlight is the topic of everyone's conversations following that dramatic mess up for the Best Picture winner last night at the Oscars — but for Patricia Arquette, it brought up other emotions.

The Boyhood actress opened up to Vanity Fair about being happy to see an LGBT movie take home the biggest prize, but she was a little disappointed her transgender sister Alexis Arquette, who passed away back in September after complications from HIV, was notably left out of the ceremony's In Memoriam.

The 48-year-old said of Barry Jenkins' powerful film:

"[I was touched] this beautiful story about a gay kid in America in a world that doesn't accept gay people. I'm really bummed. For the in memoriam, they left out our sister Alexis, and she was trans."

As you may know, the late actress had about 70 acting credits under her belt — including The Wedding Singer, Pulp Fiction, Of Mice and Men, and Last Exit to Brooklyn.

Alexis Arquette's Family Holds A 'Beautiful' Memorial Service In Her Honor

Alexis Arquette deserved nothing less.

According to People, Alexis' four siblings, Patricia Arquette, David Arquette, Rosanna Arquette, and Richmond Arquette, organized a "beautiful" memorial service to honor her life on Wednesday night. The emotional event comes on heels of the starlet's heartbreaking death from AIDS related complications back in September.

Per the report, the memorial was attended by the activist's closest loved ones and included a ton of thoughtful personal tributes in her memory.

Patricia Arquette continues to mourn the tragic loss of her sister Alexis Arquette.

As you know by now, the actress and activist passed away earlier this month from a heart attack linked to a recent bacterial infection after a long battle with HIV.
