She just doesn't LOVE that it's stealing all the thunder away from other Broadway shows.

Earlier this week, we reported on a story claiming that Broadway legend and beloved diva, Patti Lupone, had beef with Cirque du Soleil. In the article, she was quoted as saying that the show was a "big, bad brother" of a show that was too "loud" and "disenfranchised."

Well, apparently, this is all a HUGE misunderstand. Her publicist was kind enough to contact us on the matter EXCLUSIVELY and offered this explanation:

The legendary Broadway performer Patti LuPone has some beef with the Great White Way, particularly the uprising of "loud" productions in midtown. She reveals in a new interview that she is very "angry" over the ticket prices in NYC these days and much like everywhere else, she blames greed from the producers. But there seems to be a bit more to it than that. She goes on to say:

You fell in love with them in Evita, now Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin are returning to Broadway this November with their smash concert show!

"An Evening with Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin" has been playing dates around the world for the last few years, but it will finally find a more permanent residence at the Barrymore Theatre starting Nov. 16.

The show ranges from solos to duets, , Sondheim to Rodgers and Hammerstein, and presents scenes from classic shows like "South Pacific" and "Carousel." Of working with the incomparable Patti Lupone, Mandy says:

SPOILER ALERT! Be gone if you don't want to know!

It's been CONFIRMED that this morning, Lea Michele and Chris Colfer were in the presence of a Broadway legend while filming the season finale of Glee in New York. The duo had the privilege of shooting with none other than Patti Lupone in midtown Manhattan!

Aaaah-mazing!!! We're about to faint and we're not even there!!!

We hear that in the sequence, the gleeks run into Miz Lupone while dining at Sardi's! So very chic!

OMG - imagine if Patti, Lea and Chris all broke out into Don’t Cry for Me Argentina while filming???

Good for him! Leave the past behind and move on to something more (less?) challenging!

Next week, Two and A Half Men former star Jon Cryer will join an astoundingly talented cast in a semi-staged production of Company for the New York Philharmonic. Jon will be taking on the role of David, the pot-loving close friend of lead protagonist Robert, who will be played by the phenomenal Neil Patrick Harris.

Oh, it gets better! Rounding out the rest of the cast will be Christina Hendricks as April, Katie Finneran as Amy and Jennifer Laura Thompson as Jenny! And expect to see some other famous faces grace the stage during the performance, including Anika Noni Rose, Stephen Colbert and the incomparable Miz Patti LuPone.

So much talent…how will they fit it into one room! Cue us praying that PBS brings some cameras along so we can watch this at home!

The show will run for a limited engagement from April 7 through 9. If you are in the NYC area, we advise you to seriously consider trying to catch this show!

Uh-oh! We would NOT want to piss her off!

Apparently, someone has an account on Twitter called LuPonePATTI, and moonlights as the two-time Tony award winning Broadway diva, and the real life Patti knows about it - and has something to say to the impostor!

She says:

“I don’t have a Twitter account. I don’t have a Facebook page. And I will not have one in the near future. It’s as if I’ve had my identity stolen! I’d like to meet this person and wring his or her neck. And tell them to use their time in a more beneficial way. Like work for a charity instead of impersonating people!”

She also revealed that she went as far to drop by the corporate headquarters of Twitter to try and get the fake taken down, but so far her efforts have been in vain!

Sucks! But you're doing the right thing by letting as many people know it's bullshiz as possible!

Hopefully it will be enough to get them off-line!
