Even though Neil Patrick Harris might have been having the Best Time Ever hosting the new variety series, it still wasn't enough to save the show.
On Tuesday, NBC announced that it has cancelled BTE after airing only eight episodes.
The live, hour-long production often involved silly stunts, perfect pranks, and star-studded appearances — remember that time Britney Spears pulled a fast one on her bodyguards?

Sources say that NPH and network execs were hesitant about ending the show, but it was pretty expensive to produce and took a lot of time and energy from the famous father.
The network's late-night president Paul Telegdy issued a statement about the cancellation, telling Variety:
"We are extremely proud of the work Neil and the producers did on Best Time Ever. People rewarded us for taking the risk of trying something different. It was an incredibly complicated and sophisticated form of television to put on a live show on a weekly basis. We're proud of Neil for giving it his all and we have steely resolve to work together on something new."
Now, NBC is pulling the plug on the program but NOT on its relationship with the blonde babe!
While the big wigs had decided that it wasn't worth signing on for a completely revamped season, they are still planning another project with the How I Met Your Mother alum.
We're very curious to see what they have in store for the talented star.
