Three thousand 16-ounce jars of Smucker's Natural Peanut Butter Chunky are being recalled due to possible salmonella contamination.
Jars would have most likely been purchased in the last week and have "Best if Used By" dates of August 3, 2012 and August 4, 2013 along with the codes 1307004 and 1308004.
Although no illnesses have been reported yet, as always, it's VERY important to check your peanut butter jars because if left untreated, Salmonella can have serious implications for those with weaker immune systems.
The containers in question were distributed in Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin and the District of Columbia.
