Details On How Osama Bin Laden Death Announcement Leaked

details on how osama bin laden death news announcement leaked

Yesterday, the world already pretty much knew about Osama Bin Laden's death before President Barack Obama made his speech to the nation.

We can thank Twitter for the "heads up" on the momentous announcement, because at 10:25 p.m. last night, Keith Urbahn (chief of staff for former defense secretary Donald Rumsfeld) tweeted the following:

“So I’m told by a reputable person they have killed Osama Bin Laden. Hot damn.”

“Don’t know if it’s true, but let’s pray it is.”

Following Urbahn's tweet, anonymous White House and Pentagon sources spread the word about Osama's death as well.

Here's what NBC's Brian Williams had to say about it:

"This story started to leak out in the public domain largely when some Congressional staffers started to make phone calls."

From there, the news spread virally over the Internet, until President Obama made his address to the nation at 11:35 p.m. last night.

Pentagon Study In Favor Of 'Don't Ask Don't Tell' Repeal!

How will anyone be able to argue this?

Two people close to the upcoming report by a Pentagon study group regarding the repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell have come forward to reveal that according to the draft, the military can lift the ban on gay men and women serving their country openly with only MINIMAL and isolated incidents of risk to the current war!

The 370-page report continues that over 70% of the respondents - all active-duty and reserve troops - to a survey sent out by the group said that the effect of a repeal on DADT would be positive, mixed, or nonexistent!

Although the sources refused to give their names or position, they maintain that the reason that they came forward with the findings were to minimize those opposed to the ban manipulating and mischaracterizing the group's findings.

The full report will be handed over to President Obama on December 1st.

Although this is pretty much what we've known to be true all along, it's still FANTASTIC news!

The time for change is almost upon us! We sincerely pray that our President does not let us down!

The Military Is Cool With The Repeal Of 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell,' According To New Study!

Well if this doesn't prove that this horrible policy is unnecessary, then we don't know what does!

The Pentagon recently released a study that found that MOST U.S. troops and their families DO NOT CARE whether or not gays are allowed to serve their country openly, and are ready for 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' to be abolished!

Richard Engel, of NBC News, announced the findings yesterday on The Rachel Maddow Show, and the details of the findings will be fully disclosed when the repeal process begins on December 1st!

We'll be very CURIOUS to hear about the full results, but clearly, this says quite a bit about where the military stands on this matter!

And if THEY don't care, why the EFF should anyone else?!
