As many of you know, music is one of my biggest passions in life!
Few things make me as happy as discovering new artists, enjoying them, and sharing them with YOU! That's truly exceptionally meaningful to me! I hand pick every single one of our Listen To This selections. There is no "Payola Perez!"
If I select a song it's because I genuinely love it! And I feel such a sense of pride that I've been able to really champion and help many artists along the way. And I continue to do that, not just on my website but also through my music compilation series.
Over the next week (every other day,) I will highlight five out of the 18 artists featured on Pop Up #7 — starting with this song! Coast Modern's Hollow Life is the very first song on this latest installment. And, for me, that's always the most important!
People may sample my compilation out of curiosity, but if they don't like that first song, then I have to assume their curiosity stops there. Thankfully, this song is killer! I love Coast Modern's music so much that I had them perform at my SXSW party in Austin. And one of the members used to be in another band I loved, Natalie Portman's Shaved Head. This was meant to be! This song has a real cool pop vibe to it. If you like Foster The People, then you will really dig Coast Modern.

Ch-ch-check out Coast Modern's Hollow Life (above)!!!
Well, now, one of the people there -- Amber's neighbor and friend of thirteen years, Raquel Rose Pennington -- has given a deposition where she describes that day's events in detail, and it is very scary.
Pennington claims that on May 21, she received a text from Heard asking her to come over to the woman's condo. When Pennington got there, she heard the couple arguing, and she entered the condo to try to stop it.
