Demi Lovato Says What We're All Thinking About Donald Trump's 'Person Of The Year' Runner-Up Status!

demi lovato puts time magazine on blast

Yes, Donald Trump wasn't named Time's Person Of The Year.

But he came pretty damn close — and that's so not okay. This is the stance that Demi Lovato has taken following the release of the celebrated mag's Person Of The Year issue.

As we previously reported, Time chose to honor "Silence Breakers" this year as it featured prominent women who've taken a stand against sexual assault — including Ashley Judd, Taylor Swift, etc. Sadly, POTUS came awfully close to nabbing the prestigious title as he landed himself in the runner-up position.

This has, understandably, ruffled a few feathers as the Commander-In-Chief has been hit with sexual misconduct allegations from 16 women. Please note that the Trumpster has denied the claims and dubbed them "fake news." Yeah okay, bro.

Lovato was one of the prominent voices who criticized the mag as, on Wednesday, the former Disney darling wrote:

Time Magazine Names The Silence Breakers Their Person Of The Year!

time person of the year

We are SO about this decision.

On Wednesday, it was confirmed that The Silence Breakers (many involved with the anti-harassment #MeToo movement) have been named Time magazine's Person of the Year. This decision comes amid the MANY sexual misconduct scandals that have plagued both the entertainment industry and politics.

In case you missed it, following the explosive exposés about sexual predator Harvey Weinstein, Alyssa Milano rallied thousands to open up about their experiences with harassment and/or assault in order to prove that the filmmaker's abuse wasn't an uncommon thing in society. Using the hashtag #MeToo, numerous people came forward to out heavyweights near and far for their sexual misconduct — including Kevin Spacey, James Toback, Brett Ratner, etc.

Ironically, the announcement was made on NBC's Today, where longtime host Matt Lauer was recently ousted for his "inappropriate sexual behavior" with a colleague. Be sure to watch the announcement (below)!

Caitlyn Jenner Apologizes For Her Controversial 'Man In A Dress' Comment

Caitlyn explains she didn't intend to offend anyone.

Caitlyn Jenner wants to say she's sorry.

The 6th-runner-up for Time's 2015 Person Of The Year got in some hot water after she told the magazine that "if you look like a man in a dress, it makes people uncomfortable."

Plenty of people took to social media to sound off on the offensive remark, and they definitely weren't happy. So, the brunette beauty decided to pen an apology in an op-ed for WhoSay.

The 66-year-old admitted:

"I guess it's true that there are some things that I have not gotten right. Sometimes this is because I'm still finding out about the issues. Sometimes this is because something that is true for me isn't true for other people in our community. And sometimes I've said things that just come out the wrong way. And sometimes the media takes one comment out of context—or interprets it to mean something other than what I meant."

The reality star clarified her comments, saying she meant no harm:

Caitlyn Jenner Says That If Trans People 'Look Like A Man In A Dress, It Makes People Uncomfortable'

Oof.

Caitlyn Jenner may have been named a runner-up for Time's Person of the Year after having such a groundbreaking year, but she wants everyone to know that she isn't officially a spokesperson for the transgender community.

Even though she adamantly explained that role has been projected on her by the media, the 66-year-old opened up to the popular publication about how she hopes to do her best to represent transgender individuals, saying:

"The more as I proceed and go forward, it is important for me to try to project a good image for this community."

But, the "good image" she wants to present has upset quite a few people. The former Olympian describes it, explaining:

"One thing that has always been important for me, and it may seem very self-absorbed or whatever, is first of all your presentation of who you are. I think it's much easier for a trans woman or a trans man who authentically kind of looks and plays the role."

Hmm. Isn't the whole point of raising awareness about the struggles faced within this community so that transgender people can be accepted and comfortable just being themselves, not trying to fit a certain mold or image that appeases our critical society?

Unfortunately, Perezcious readers, if you thought that remark was bad, the reality star's controversial comment only got worse when she said:

It was a close one for the Pope, though! Miley Cyrus was in the list of finalists, and she had a pretty darn good year, too!

Now, the brave men and women who helped fight the Ebola outbreak are joining the ranks of those who have nabbed the coveted title!
